I purchased a membership from SMC and was under the impression that you could get an online business started for $25, but that was not the case. I would end up paying close to $3,000 for what they, Emerchant Club, they are SMCorp website builders, called a website.

You would not believe the pressure they forced upon me, constantly called me all day long. They kept reminding me of how much money I could be making online and how easy it was to sell these products. It was almost as if they would sell themselves, NOT!!! Not once did Emerchant Club mention promotion (search engines) to get traffic to your website.

Anyway, it was about 45 days before I would see my site and I was disappointed. It was cluttered, cheap and cheesy looking. Emerchant Club made it seem so easy to manage the site and it wasn't, I had to learn HTML and Java Script (very frustrating and confusing) in order to make changes to the site.

They also charged me $150 to add a page and every little thing had to go through a Webmaster for a fee. They would say that they were going to notify you when task was complete, but they never do.

Since I had already paid for the site and was not able to get a refund, I had no other choice, but to keep the site and utilize it. I had to learn on my own how to submit my site to the search engines because they were talking about some more money and lots of it.

The final straw came this summer when they were doing upgrades and they said started out at $400. I had just paid them close to $3,000 and now I had to pay another $400 or more? These upgrades were suppose to be HTML friendly, affiliate tracking, new and improved Night Manager, etc.

I wasn't about to give up anymore money for this website, so I started searching around for an easier to use website. I found one at www.smcinternet.com . They have so many different services and they were located in my state. I tried the site free for 15 days without any form of money up front and I LOVED IT!!!

Customer Service is GREAT and Tech Support is AWESOME!!!

This site cost me less than $300 and I can make changes myself. It has everything intergrated into their system.

I'm talking about search engines, affiliate tracking, merchant accounts, countless number of themes for your site, background music and so much more.

All and all, SMC/Emerchant Club prices are outrageous when it comes to building websites, but the products are great. If you want an affordable website, check out www.smcinternet.com and you'll be glad you did.

I can't find this smc

I currently have one the cheaper smc websites. I would like to upgrade, but as you mentioned it can be expensive. The problem I have right now with my website is that the majority of the products on my website are out of stock which basically forces you to upgrade if you want to sell anything. After reading your complaint, I tried to find this smcinternet but I can't. I came across SCM internet but I'm not sure that's the same. If you're wondering if you should start a business with SMC or not, I haven't been doing it long enough to say definitely don't waste your time, but I will say it seems you will pay more than what you expect. Like I said my site is the cheapest one they offer, it's a "catalog viewer" site meaning the customer is literally flipping through the pages of their cheapest catalog in which the majority of the items are out of stock.

Why even bother with SMC

Why even bother with SMC when there are plenty of real dropshippers out there that will bend over backwards to help you sell there products. Goto Ebay and find people selling that SMC junk at cost and making a few bucks on the shipping. SMC advertises and take away YOUR potential customers on a daily basis, so again WHY BOTHER. SMC commercials are designed to SUCKER you into their business, only to take your money. Think about this - Why is SMC trying so hard too put all competition who sells SMC websites out of business? The answer is simple, they make MOST odf there money from selling there Websites and Hosting. NOT FROM THERE PRODUCTS! They calim they hace more than 8000 sites - Do the math - 8000 x 30.00 per month = 240,000.00 / mo and this does not even include the website costs and all the other nicle and dime services that gouge out of you. THIS IS THE REASON THEY ARE TRY TO RUIN EVERYONE WHO GETS IN THERE WAY!

Yes eBizCSP is still helping SMC members

eBizCSP, L.L.C. continues to build and host websites for SMCorp members. SMC and eMerchant Club won their case against SellSMC partly because SellSMC failed to file an opposition to SMCorp's claims and no one from SellSMC appeared at the hearing! They ran out of money trying to battle SMC and their David vs. Goliath legal strategy. eBizCSP, L.L.C. is a debt free company and has shocked SMC by refusing to stop competing with eMerchant Club. SMCorp is now facing several very strong counterclaims against them that could be devastating to their eMerchant Club scam.

At least partially SMC won a large part of their case against several providers sadly I think the judge was paid off the problem is where does this leave those who dont want to have to use Emerchantclub? Im trying to find out information if EbizCSP is still taking clients and whatnot. Meanwhile I cant seem to find much choice out there and SMC is pushing their new Version 6 sites although nobody seems to want to email me from them telling me how mcuh they are charging

P.S. When I purchased my new website from www.smcinternet.com (I forget to tell youu that they are not affiliated with SMCorp) They just sell affordable websites! I called SMC to inquire about new products, they asked me about was I interested in a website upgrade? I told them that I had found a new one. The guy asked did I mind if he checked it out, I told him to go ahead, well he checked it out, and could not believe that I Paid less than $300.00 for it(way far less than what they charge). He could not believe that I had all these features for the price,he did not respond in anegative way, he was in total shock (he actually spent almost 5 minutes just browsing my siter with me still on the phone) I reminded him that I had gotten rid of my $3,000 site, all he said then was hmmm'
