I had the year subscription to eharmony for a year and quit using it about 6 months tru the subscription.  I planned to just let the service lapse and go away.

Two days ago i saw a charge again from eharmony. I was not warned of the pending charge for the autorenewal (a week?) before the charge to my account was made. Eharmony sends 5 emails to my account a day why wouldnt the warn me that an autorenewal was pending?

I called yesterday (2 days after the charge of 70 to my account for a full year renewal total value $210.) and their customer service was not willing to refund the auto renewal or even let me out of the remaining 2 more charges and full year subscription. (no warning from eharmony before the charge or even after)

There was text at the site that after 3 days a refund is not possible .. and they would not even honor that, they stated that the auto renewal option is not a part of that exception .. they say that the auto renewal is a customer friendly option that the customer is responsible to turn off and after it activates they will/can? not alter it.

i have already wasted several hours of trying to communicate with their customer service department via phone and have been hung up on about 5 times .. they will just treat you like a child and tell you that you should have known about the auto renewal and turned it off .. but heres another part of the trick .. it says you can turn it off ..but not until after you have paid the final payment .. so you have to wait .. until you pay the 3rd payment before you can go in and turn the 'customer friendly' autorenew option off.  So 8 months after you subscribe you need to remember to go back and turn off the feature?

also They do keep your account information

That maybe true but you do not put it in specific obvious terms so that the buyer is fully aware, whatt a rip off.

13. **RENEWALS**.

In order to provide continuous service, eHarmony automatically renews all paid subscriptions for the Services on the date such subscriptions expire. We always communicate renewal periods to you in the subscription plan page, before you finalize the purchase of your subscription, upon confirmation of purchase, and in the body of any special promotions sent to our users. By entering into this Agreement, you acknowledge that your account will be subject to the above-described automatic renewals. In all cases, if you do not wish your account to renew automatically, please follow the directions set out under "Cancellation At Any Time With No Refund" above.

You either can't read/comprehend what you're signing up for. I don't see the Ripoff here.
