Ecko Unlimited completely ripping people off *Consumer Advise *EDITORS NOTE
Recently I bought a "leather" jacket from a store called DEMO in the crossgates mall in Albany, NY. This jacket comes with paperwork which clearly states it is a genuine leather jacket, a "certified leather" stamp on the inside seem, and is sold my retailers as leather.
After a minor rip I took it too a tailor to fix and low and behold he tells me it is not leather at all but PVC also called pleather. after looking at the paper work that comes with it again I could not see anyway that what is stated could be more of a complete flat out lie.
I quote from one of the tags recieved with the Jacket "CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase of this fine ECKO UNLTD. leather jacket.....we used the finest genuine leater consisting of superior quality skins prepared by expert tanning is that not an out right lie. I have since wrote letters too Ecko to no reply. Is this not complete fraud?

(518) 474-2121 (NYS Operator) ask for the Consumer Frauds and Protection Department. When you talk to them ask for their fax number and fax the form found here:

This is the best advice I can offer you. I shop at Crossgates quite often and will show them a copy of the Rip Off report you made. If they did rip you off, then the Attorney Generals Office is the way to go.

But, in most states, definitely including NY, the Attorney Generals offices are so swamped, they will not even look at something like this. Yes, I could be wrong, and I hope I am. badbusinessbureau.com strongly suggest that the victim make a complete copy of their Rip-off Report, print up 500 of them and pass them around the Mall to all the other stores employees, very quickly before security catches you. Then go to Ecko Unlimited store and let them know you will now be passing out flyers about their consumer rip-off on the "public right-of way " (sidewalk), right by the entranceways to the mall, with a big sign, in BIG BOLD LETTERS that says: ................ Ecko Unlimited ....RIP-OFF read all about it! ............... ... Then, you let Ecko Unlimited know that you are charging them $200 per hour you have to stand out there, till they refund your money and totally reimburse you for all your expenses, including the posters, flyers, gas and your time. The above directions will work with any company that rip's you off. The courts take too long and is just a crap shoot. Better off taking that money and going to Vegas.
