Crystal Properties Unfair Business Practices Las Vegas Nevada
After sending a deposit for a home we rented for our wedding, we received no receipts for the transactions and Crystal Properties charged the deposit under 2 different company names (AA&Associates, Las Vegas Furnished Rentals). We had to ask several times for our rental contract. After 2 months of bad customer service and repeated emails we finally got the rental contract.
As stated on the website, you have 5 days after receiving the contract to cancel with a full refund. We tried to cancel. Mr. Anello told us the 5 days started from when he took the deposit. So, he locked us into a contract without giving us a fair opportunity to read it and since there is no signature required for our consent it's apparently legal.
We decided we didn't want our wedding ruined by his poor business practices so, we canceled. We felt 6 months was long enough for him to find other renters and thought his refusal to give a refund was absurd. (The property has since rented on the same weekend we had rented) We went through our banks and VISA comapnies to get the refund since he was being uncooperative.
The bank only gave us a partial refund because Mr. Anello did not provide us with receipts for the transaction made under a second business name (Las Vegas Furnished Rentals). When asked for the paper work he refused and threatened to get a lawyer.
He has ignored my requests for a refund since then and even refused to respond to my complaint I filed with the BBB.
My fiance and I have worked hard to save for our wedding and he held our money hostage for months and is still holding part of it hostage. It has caused me stress and anxiety over the last 6 months and I just want a fair ending to all this nonsense.
He is untrustworthy, unfair and unreliable. In my opinion he takes advantage of tourists, takes their money, makes BIG promises and then leaves them hanging. People rent large houses for fun events that are meant to bring friends and families together and he ruins their Vegas experience.
He should not be allowed to continue taking advantage of people. People need to be warned about this company so the same thing doesn't happen to them.
