I ordered a bridal shower gift(which was from 3 co-workers) by e-mail. That was my first mistake. My second and big one was I inadvently hit the wrong couple's name to e-mail the present to. The names were very similar. Crate and Barrel contacted me and said the wrong couple notified them and would return the gift since they knew it wasn't theirs. Crate and Barrel sent them the tags to send it back however of this date they haven't returned the items. This has gone on for 2 months. Last week I contacted Crate and Barrel again and I was told if indeed they did not receive the items back they would make it right with me by giving me a credit on my Visa. Today, April 17th.2003, when I called them back I was told they would not credit me...it was my fault and on and on.

The bride and groom have purchased all their furniture along with being on their gift registry...in other words have spent a lot of money at Crate and Barrel. If a company wants to maintain it's reputation and goodwill to it's customers the right thing to do is to credit my account and I will re-order with them. I don't have another $90.00 dollars to spend on ordering again.

I would appreciated anything you could do for me.

WHY IS IT CRATE & BARREL'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE? YOU ARE THE ONE WHO ENTERED THE WRONG NAME/ADDRESS ON YOUR ORDER, AND NEVER BOTHERED TO PROOFREAD YOUR TYPING BEFORE SENDING THE ORDER. WHY DON'T YOU GO AFTER THE PERSON WHO YOU INADVERTENTLY SENT THE ORDER TO? WHY IS ANY OF THIS CRATE & BARREL'S FAULT? OF COURSE THEY SHOULD NOT SEND YOU THE MERCHANDISE UNTIL THE FIRST ORDER IS RETURNED TO THEM. YOU ONLY PAID FOR IT ONCE, CORRECT? AND THEY SENT IT ONCE. TO THE ADDRESS THAT *YOU* GAVE THEM! THEY HAVE LIVED UP TO THEIR PART, WHY IS THAT NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU? I'LL TELL YOU WHY -- BECAUSE YOU ARE JUST ONE OF THE MANY CUSTOMERS OUT THERE WHO WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING, AND IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR WAY AFTER THROWING A WINING CRYING HISSY FIT THEN YOU JUST BLAME IT ON THE STORE. WELL YOU DO NOT HAVE MY SYMPATHY MISSY. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS AND CHALK THIS UP TO A LEARNING EXPERIENCE, MY DEAR. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO IN THIS WORLD THAN TO CATER TO YOUR EVERY NEED AND CLEAR UP YOUR MISTAKES!!
