Complaint Review: Consumers Benefits USA - swanton, Vt. VT IL Nationwide

I get this call from Consumers Benefit USA The man tells me he wants to lower my interest rate

on my credit card.. I am to believe I am talking to my own credit card company... I tell him I want to see this in print first .. he says he can not send it to me until he has my full credit card number..

he gives me the first few numbers and asked me for the last four.. I argue with him and he tells me I guess you don't want your interest lowered..thinking I am talking with my own credit card company ..

he says he will mail out the info to me.. I said I want the undrstanding that I can reject any offers made after reading.. and he says sure I could do that..

well in a couple days this rip off group has charged my credit card 380.00 I call the credit card co that I have and cancel my cards as these scam artists have my number..

I have filed with the Atty Gen in Illinois the ARRP, a couple congress people and some fraud hot

lines. I am cmdr of local Legion post and have been told by others they have been hit by these people..

In the packet I got was a catalog of merchandize that I can get at reduced prices and also a credit card protection plan, of which I do not need..

I called them and they gave me a hard way to go over the phone telling me they would not cancell..

I finally advised them that I was going to contact a few people and they then told me they would refund the money in my credit card company.. Seeing is believing...

I think we need to know what kind of people they are.. Here is their phone number..

the entire staff was very evasive to handle my call.. they would disconnect me.. say they did not have a M. Lewis.. and then put me on with someone else..

The only thing I want to add is that I contacted the

Sec of State of Vt. and they told me this company is

not registered in the State of Vt. That just shows you

they are scam artists.. I contacted the Atty Gen in Vt

and in Illinois.. I contacted Congressmen, AARP, Fraud

lines, Better Business, Gov. office.. My credit card

company told me to file a disclaim report and verbably I

have done this, I have cancelled my credit card so they

could not scam me anymore.. Hopefully the Atty Gen will

be helping me out on this scam... I have had offers of

assistance in the matter from several agencies.. The only

think I want to add is beware of these fly by night (

not reg. companies like Consumers USA.. They are as

crooked as a hound dog's hind leg.. When I got back in

touch with Consumers the man said you are not going to

get your Fxxking money back.. and called me some other

names... Its no wonder telemarketing people get such a

bad name when you have fly by night org like this treating our older citizens.. It would take half of my

Social Security check to pay this amount back...These

people should be in Jail for what they do to our citizens.
