I bought a Compaq computer with a Samsung monitor on Jan.29,2002. I set it up and the processor kept making a loud noise and the monitor would turn off and on by itself. I called tech. support the next day spoke to Pete (case #1-3106059) he told me "the same thing happened to a friend of mine and for sure its the monitor, take it back to Comp and exchange it."

I took it back and the technicians didn't even take it out of the box to check it they just handed me another one. So I hooked it up again and it still did the same thing, so I called tech. support again spoke to John (case #1-3120743) told me to put the recovery cd in so I did and it fixed the problem, but I wasn't comfortable with this computer since we had spent $1309.00 on it and it didn't work the first time around.

I then called Compaq and spoke to Kirk Anderson he told me the processor probably had a "bad factory image". He told me if I wasn't comfortable with this system to exhange it or get a refund.

I took it to Comp and asked for an exchange and the skinny manager told me the computer was fine so they wouldn't exchange it. So then I got pissed off and wanted a complete refund, he told me they would charge me 15% for open box fee.

I left Comp USA crying and with my bunk computer figuring I would get help from higher people.I spoke to "Greg" from Kim Ghoos office he gave me the # to the corporate office. I spoke to "Kenny" who was supposed to call me within 2 days (still waiting) so I called him back, I spoke to Ron Magers who told me that "Kenny" would get back to me in 2 hours (still waiting) anyways I'm hoping they'll satisfy this customer. I'll let you guys know what my outcome was. I'm not totally ripped off YET. Wish me luck.

Got My Answer From The "Rip-Offs" at Comp USA

Well I got my answer today 2-11-02, they said "NO" on my complete refund. Well I guess those money hungry "Rip-Offs" need their money more than they need to satisfy their customers! People beware, Comp Usa doesn't stand behind their products, they'll just try to make more money by selling you a warranty. If you feel like you want to get rid of money, donate it to a charity, don't buy from Comp Usa because you'll just be throwing you money away!
