I purchased a text from them listed as "Used" and received an instructor's edition. When I requested the return they said it was valid to send me the instructors edition because their used description states "may display publisher marking on the outside cover".
They have 5 different condition categories:
New - New
Used - High quality with publisher statement
Disclaimer - Books distributed as sample copy for academic review
Annotated - annotated for professors
eText - electronic copy
I had to pay return shipping. Also, they deducted the shipping for sending it to me from their refund. I was able to get that back by filing a dispute, but I am out the return shipping. I know I won't purchase there anymore.

At first I was dubious about this complaint. I figured if it were me, sure why not have all the extras, answers etcetera that the professors get? Then I looked up the controversy. These instructor editions are usually marked not for resale and a lot of unscrupulous resellers tape over the identifiers on the front and back covers. There might even be classes where you could get in trouble if found to have these editions, rendering them worse than worthless, not to mention you'd be hard pressed afterward to sell it. Clearly, these wiseguys had an obligation to some extent to denote in the listing that out and out, this was an instructors edition. Too bad you're out the return shipping already. I'd have advised you to not ship it back until they sent a prepaid mailer for it and charge the thing back on your card regardless, letting the card issuer know why you're holding onto it.
