Circuit City bent over BACKWARDS for you! They gave you a new PC, and your right, the porn had a lot to do with it. They RARELY break the 14 day rule, but the PC should have been wiped to factory and it was not, big time fault - so you got real lucky there. You do not deserve money back for the warranty, you are the one who replaced the motherboard with another. And the "new" 3rd party tech would not have been able to help unless he had your ORIGINAL motherboard. It did not need to be BROKE per se, it just needed to have the original stuff in it.

I can understand your frustration, most definitely. But you do have to also understand the common gist of warranties. If you (or your 3rd party) tamper with things, and by chance break something on your own, then the company shouldn't be responsible for your mishap. Also, about buying the floor model. Having pre-downloaded music on a floor model isn't uncommon. Just be thankful it wasn't worse. I wish i had more advice to help, but i think you may have over reacted a bit.

I was contacted by Circuit City's Home office, a very nice lady named Rozalind(spelled wrong no doubt), she was so very kind and apologetic, told me she was sorry that this had taken so long and gone this far, also wanted to know what I figured my loss was, I explained: 3 trips to the store, total 600 miles, 100 miles each way. approx.$150 fuel, plus the original $178 dollars for the long term service policy that was never honored, Also the price of a new computer to replace the original, $355 dollars, and the $50 dollars set up fee on the open box computer they took back. A shade over $700 dollars, she assured me that after consulting with her supervisor she would contact me and arrange to settle this. HA!! After 2-3 weeks of phone tag I finally got her to answer the phone. Circuit City sent me a card with $75 dollars on it, but it had to be redeemed at their store......about 10% of my actual loss minus the time and hassle. So on line I went, (I've sworn to never enter another Circuit City store). I found a headset with a microphone included and with shipping used most of the credit on said card. After waiting to receive the shipment, sure enough there it was, I hurried inside the house to try em out.......THEY DIDN'T WORK!!! So I called them and they arranged to replace them, minus shipping which can't be refunded, according to them. You know they are in the box, I still haven't returned them, Im tired of the anxious waiting and obvious disappointment. If you work for circuit city, don't let me know it......like I said before I am an Ordained Minister, But I am an Ordained Minister who is Plum out of cheeks to turn, and I don't want my soul to burn in eternal flames because I lose my temper with some circuit city......Whatever. Isn't them sending me the credit card some kind of admission of guilt, how can all these companies get away with abusing us and we are powerless to control their thefts, robberies, whatever title you give it, they are providing no service in my opinion.
