I purchased a mattress set at Chattanooga Mattress that I was told many times had a 10 yr warranty. When the mattress set was delivered the manufacture warranty said my set was a 5 yr. pro-rated. I called CM who assured me the tags on the mattress were INCORRECT and so was the paperwork. (Likely story) I called the manufacture (Spring Air) at their Headquarters in Chicago who referred me to the manufacture in Atlanta who serviced my area. They both confirmed that my mattress set was only 5 yrs pro-rated. CM finally told me they would swap it out. When the new one arrived, they had punched thru the plastic and sribbled out the manufactures warranty code and w/ an ink pen wrote in the code for a 10 yr warranty. I wouldn't let them bring it in my home. I told them that I didnt think you could change the manufactures codes and explained my calls to the actual company. He finally said he would order a bed that was 10 yr warranty. THREE weeks later they call and say they are bringing the bed in a couple of hours. No one came, no one called. We had to call the next day. Finally, we went down there b/c when we called, they told us to hold and they would call back. They never did. We finally told them we just want our money back to which they said they would have to keep 15% as a restock fee. I dont think so! We finally got our mattress set which I have called the manufacture of this one to confirm that they are telling the truth. Check your warranty/manufactures tags, etc and make sure everything is in order. Get everything in writing! Set deadlines for services to be completed. Don't be intimidated. If they want to sell the product, make them keep their end of the deal. Or they will find a way to have the upper-hand. Without comsumers they have no business. No one is honest these days and this proved to me that some businesses must think we are total idiots if they think they can cross out pertinent warranty (or other) info w/ an ink-pen and expect us to believe it was a manufactures error. I wish they wouldve just admitted their mistake. It just made me think they were trying to pass off that cheap-junk mattress for a bigger price. After all that trouble you think they wouldve gladly given our money back to be done w/ it since they knew I would call and verify anything they sold to me by the manufacturers themselves. My new mattress better feel like heaven!
