I wrote to Cellular One and to Alltel with my comments I made in the original rip-off report. Cellular One did reply by e-mail, but Alltel did not. Cellular One said that my Nights would NOT move to 9 p.m. unless I took out a NEW contract with them. That still means that they are taking back 1200 minutes per month from all of those "new contracts", though, and it still seems unfair to me when cell prices are so high. Also, to those out there who have land lines -- check to see if you have what many phone companies are offering in regards to unlimited long distance programs for a lower price than any cell company gives you. OUR local phone company has a Freedom Plan that is unlimited long distance for about $40 or $50 per month, and it includes the monthly phone service in that price, not an extra $40 or $50. If you are getting a cell for the sake of unlimited long distance, check our what your local phone companies may be offering. You may want to drop your cell and get a land line. Or may want to drop your larger cell plans and go for smaller and less expensive ones. I will say that the Cellular One rep that e-mailed me was most curtious and respectful. A real PLUS to that company's P.R. in their customer service. Very unusual but some ARE out there like that afterall. My hat is off to my rep who wrote back to me.
