I had an account with Care.com and, for my own reasons, removed my account at the begninning of the year. In April I returned the to the site and created a new account. In June I went to the extent of paying for a 3 month membership and an extensive background check so that I would have an increased chance of finding employment with a family.

Shortly after I made these purchases Care.com removed my account. Now, this site runs on the principle that they do NOT owe one an explanation for removal of their account nor do they even have to have a reason to remove an account. However, when I questioned them they stated that they found that they didn't have to tell me why they deleted me but that they did so because THEY had previously removed my account.

Care.com never removed my original account, I did. As a result, I have been banned from their site due to a case of what appears to be extreme oversensitivity. 

I could care less that the company gave me a refund. I care that I am banned from the site and my reputation potentially tarnished because while they do not have to tell me why I was deleted from the site, let alone that I was deleted at all, they do reserve the right to tell all families I had been in contact with that I have been removed. This will cause families to question how trustworthy of a person I am which, in turn, creates a ripple effect in which the end result is bad word of mouth is spread about me and I am unable to find a job.

Avoid Care.com at all costs. They are a terrible company who does not want to deal with customers. This cannot be denied when it takes 20+ minutes of searching and reading to find their phone number as they REFUSE to list it on their "contact us" page and then if you are lucky enough to hear back from them the email is signed "The Care.com Team." Really? A human being didn't write that letter? What kind of company hides behind the internet and anonymity? 

There is nothing trustworthy about this site. To prove this point - they routinely delete ALL negative comments from their Facebook page lest somebody actually see them and realize that this company is VERY shady.

People who come here to post a "RipOff" and fail to tell the full story instead they use terms like "for my own reasons".

You see what are the reasons you closed your account?   It obviously wasn't becasuse you had a job or you would have said "Because I had a job".  Did you perhaps have negative reviews that you thought you could get away from by opening up another account?    Did you have a lot of stress going on and just didn't want to deal with a site at that time?  Because if everything was perfect for you, there would be no reason you need to close the account.

Also, just those two reasons are also very valid reasons why it is important to know the full history of someone taking care of my kids.  Sure you may have passed a background check, but does that include you being in a rehab clinic?  Oh and NO I am NOT saying this is the case, but when you fail to say why you closed your account and leave out vital information, isn't it amazing what people can come up with.  This is also the reason that just about every site has rules about opening up "multiple" accounts.  You see you could have just as easily called them up and said that you would like to re-open your account.  If you did and they said no...why did they say no?  Then if they did say no, why did you then attempt to open up another account?

Then you throw in terms like "oversensitivity".  Again, this is not a normal term if you are on the "up and up".  There is obviously something you are leaving out.  What would they be oversensitive to?

Of course if this company is so bad why did you not only want to be on their site not once but twice?
