Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My husband purchased a Boostmobile phone from a Walmart here in Georgia. He used the number listed in the kit to phone a representative to set up the phone. I repeat that he used a company representative to activate the service. After several hours the phone was still not working so he attempted to set it up via computer. He was instructed to call the 800 number again because a number was wrong. We called 1-888-BOOST-4U and what transpired was unbelievable.

The customer service representative told him that his activation number was no good and was not associated to the SIM card. He was told that the activation number was old and had been used previously and that it would cost him $10.00 to "re-activate" the phone. We asked how could we reactivate something that had never been activated? They said that was their policy because the activation number had been used. We explained that he had earlier tried to activate the phone, but the service never came on that is probably why the activation number was used. We then asked to speak to a supervisor, he gave us the same canned response. He was not willing to do anything to help us and suggested we go back to the store where we purchased the phone. The supervisor was a very condescending young man who would not let us speak to any one above him...gave us the perfunctory have a good day which he kept repeating and hung up on us.

With so much competition out there you would think that Sprint Nextel would hire better representatives who would be more experienced in hiring customer service issues. I for one am very disappointed in their service and my husband is returning the product. The young supervisor should be better educated in handling difficult customer issues and remember that satisfying the customer is paramount to repeat business for the company which in turn will keep him employed.

This sounds like a $10.00 scam to me. There are many options out there for cellular service...no one needs the problems Boostmobile generates.
