I purchased Carbon Copy Cloner, a software utility written by Bombich Software Inc., in April 2014.
All went well until I upgraded my operating system recently, and found that the version of Carbon Copy Cloner I had bought is "disabled" from running on my new operating system.
I was given the option to upgrade from version 3.5.6 to version 4, but to my surprise, just 5 months and 11 days after my original purchase, I was informed that I would have to pay them again if I wanted to keep using their software.
Their representative Sarah was under the misguided opinion that I could keep on using the version originally purchased, stating "...I realize that our rationale doesn't make your request any less important or the situation any less frustrating, but I wanted you to know that we made this policy decision with the intention of treating our customers as fairly as possible. CCC 3.5 will continue to work as purchased and you are under no obligation to upgrade to CCC 4."
When I replied that I could not use CCC 3.5, I got no reply. It seems that Bombich Software Inc. tackle problems like these by ignoring them and hoping they'll go away.
