Blue Haven Pools built our pool 5 years ago. They never had the pool signed off by the City Inspector. City sent us a letter stating that our pool permit will expire if the final inspection is not performed within a certain number of days.

Within the first two years, I noticed "hair line" cracks in the plaster. These "hair line" cracks then became bigger and throughout the whole pool. They ran from deck down through the tile, down through the plaster, all along the pool and up on the other side through the tile and deck.

I then made my first attempt to have somebody from Blue Haven come out to look at it. That was over 3 YEARS AGO. I got Consumer Affairs involved but all they did was protect the Contractor and provided no service to the customer. They told me to get a soils report before they can do anything to the contractor.

This summer the cracks became wider. I have been calling Blue Haven Pools, practically every day since June. I must have talked to at least 4 different receptionists/supervisors. I left numerour messages for the General Manager (who NEVER CALLED back). They kept promising to send someone out. Every time I called back they acted like they did not know me or what the problem was. I have called Blue Haven Pools main office. All they have is a tape recorder. I left messages. Nobody calls back.

I am now planning on picketing in front of their office next week. Also, I will write letters to the Attorney General, District Attorney, Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Consumer Fraud Protection, Contractor's Board and again to Consumer Affairs.

This so called "Pool Company" has to accept some responsibility. I will not let them get away with it. I will try my best to get the truth out about this company. Consumers have rights, and consumers should not have to deal with shabby companies.

I am having my own problems with this company. Apparently it is not unusual that they disregard completion dates and are unresponsive to complaints. Perhaps an unfair business practices lawsuit or a class-action would help move things along. I have a strong suspicion that this "National" company is nothing more than dozens of individual contractors doing business under the same name.

Please let me know if you want to join forces here in Southern California against Blue Haven Pools. I did not realize that they "ripped off" so many customers.
