Sounds like you have done many things wrong here my friend. Neither a COMPAQ nor an ACER would have been the computer for you. If you are trying to play games on it, then go with a gaming computer (which costs more)... I also don't see why you didn't return the wireless card. You do have 30 days to do so... So, how come it is Best Buy's fault that you.. 1. bought a computer that you were not satisfied with 2. installed a card that was not made for your computer. or that you did not have geek squad install the card for you, so they would have figured it out that it wasn't compatible, and could have exchanged it for a similar one and taken care of you. 3. hate windows vista 4. are relying on phone technical support instead of bringing the computer in 5. are not happy with the ACER website 6. had to have someone come out to run an ethernet cable from your router/modem into your PC. BTW if you truly want to shop at CC, go ahead. They sell the SAME Acer without a wireless card.. Just remember that you taking your money elsewhere is just being replaced by the many dissatisfied customers coming from other retailers bringing their money into BBY. (it is also your choice to shop with a corp. that just filed chapter 11 bankruptcy, closing tons of stores, while laying of thousands of employees...)

To both Mark and Richard: I think the two of you need to learn that when it comes to electronics, and computers especially, you get what you pay for. You go into a store and buy the cheapest machine you can, and then you complain when it can't perform. Why do you think that those computes are so cheap in the first place? Because they are lacking in some aspect. The cheap machines with not have enough RAM for vista, will not have a graphics card able to run the newest games, will not have the most advanced chipset, will not have the fastest chipset, and will have hardware in them that is a month or two from being obsolete. Again you get what you pay for. I have sold computers in retail before, and the problem comes from customers like you two. You tell the salesperson what you will be using the computer for, and when they show you a machine that will fit your needs, you complain that it is too expensive. You don't want to pay for what you need, so you buy some stripped down machine expecting it will fit your needs. And when it doesn't, somehow you are the victim. You need to do some research before you go in to buy a computer, and you need to be ready to pay for a machine that will work. My advice to you two is to stay away from PC's altogether. Vista is a memory hog, that doesn't work. And if you are going to connect it to the internet, forget about a PC. It doesn't matter what kind of virus protection you put on the machine, you will get something that will degrade your performance even more. And you will have to spend more money on that 'bargain'. Suck it up, buy an apple. Pay a little more up front, and don't worry about the virus's, or the performance degradation, the blue screen of death, accidently changing system settings, and being stuck with a horrible OS like vista. The other things you can forget about with an apple: buying add on software, like norton, that will slow down your machine, taking the computer in for software issues, having an underpowered machine, and most importantly buying another computer in 8 to 12 months because you are finally tired of the POS PC you own. Sorry this turned into an ad for apple, but ever since I educated myself about apples I could never advocate for anyone to purchase a PC. That is why I no longer sell computers. It is also why I no longer dump money into my computer after I have already purchased it. I am sure my 'overpriced' apple has cost me less than your computers and all of their associated repairs. Good Luck to you both. (BTW my apple also spell checked everything i wrote here. It always spell checks, not just when making a document.)

1. The Wifi card that was not compatible - just return it within 30 days of purchase and get a better one that will work 2. Can't play games? It's an Acer, they are not meant for gaming...buy something with a decent graphics card/power supply/processor (i.e. NOT an Acer) 3. The computer probably did not have enough RAM to even run VISTA, upgrade the RAM 4. Don't blame the company that DID NOT manufacture the computer or any of the hardware that is installed inside of it. 5. DON'T EVER BUY AN ACER COMPUTER!! 6. Don't call Geek Squad expecting them to tell you how to fix the computer, it's a business, their job is to make money, take it up there and ask them to fix it, and be sure to have your credit card handy. Also make note of the manufacturer's warranty that comes with the unit, typically 1 year - any hardware issues will be repaired for free by Geek Squad as they are an authorized Acer repair center (Acer would pay them to fix it, so yes, they aren't doing any free work still).

I bought a toshiba Laptop from them c**k sucking sons of bitches! they did not honor the mfgr warranty. In fact I had to pay them 30 dollars to have my machine sent out and fixed. after I bought memory chips to upgrade the memory . the computer came back with the ram chips taped to the top of the pc. they damaged my memory chips , I didnt get my 30 dollars back as promised I would. I have spent over 300 aditional dollars out of my own pocket in repairs on this computer, and now the pc is only a yr old and I have replaced the Hard drive in it 4 times now. Moral of the story is never buy anything from WORST BUY!
