as an ex-employee of the company and with the after thanksgiving days "black friday" doorbuster sales items. I wanted to warn people of the scams (that is offical company policy) we used to pull on customers shopping on that day.

it's not uncommon to see a $1000 laptop marked down to $500 the ads will say things like "min 10 in stock" however what you are not told is that geek squad will preinstall extra software (antivirus , spysweeper etc) on about 60% of the units which raises the price to about $800

before the store opens at around 3am store employees typically hand out tickets to buy door buster items (to prevent riots in the store) , and will start "soft selling" (planting seeds) service plans and extra items.. many store offer food etc. once you actually get into the store .. you should expect to wait in a huge line for the item .... where more selling of service plans will occur..

at our store we implemented a manager approved discrimination policy, people at the back of the line would be moved to the front (actually a special VIP line with express checkout if they purchased a service plan and paid more...) also, what are most guys interested in? GIRLS :->... every year our store would make a small "donation" to several High school cheerleading squads.. to come to the store in uniform.. not only would they do cheers, direct people where to go.. but they also go througth the line selling PSP plans.. the "unspoken rule" was to flirt with customers to buy them.. and if these raised enough - the store would pay for new uniforms etc.. (it was considered a fundraiser by the team)

a couple of friendly reminders..

expect a hard pressure sales enviroment, expect to have your car damaged in the parking lot (one year at our store somebody decided to squeeze into a small parking spot and took out another persons car door.. my advise park off site.. be nice to the store employees..they are working 12-16hr days and remain calm.. our store had an agreement with local police to immediately remove anybody who got even the slightist bit upset... many times customers argued and got arrested and spent the weekend in jail.. good luck and have fun.. and avoid the bait and switch..
