I called Best Buy to Get My Samsung Galaxy 6 broken USB charge/data port replaced. I had once a few years ago had Geek Squad Tech Support but was sneakily charged for an automatic renew $99.99 that if I had agreed to it was done without My knowledge & I didn't want it because the Virus protection it came with was Russian. I called the Best Buy 888 # to see if I purchased that again would it fix My Phone & did it still come with Russian Virus scan called Kaspersky.
I was told they no longer offer the Tech Support plan I had before but that they had a new one that would not only fix My phone but would give Me Tech Support for every appliance & electronic in My entire home. Called Total Tech Support. This Plan cost $199.99 & incl. 1 year of Non-Russian Virus Protection. The sales rep over the phone went over the different aspects of the plan & assured me that I could not only fix My phone but also get My Laptop tuned up & any appliance whether purchased @ Best Buy or not.
I purchased the plan over the phone from their salesmen & immediately drove the 33 miles to the nearest Best Buy & got in line @ the Geek Squad counter & as soon as I got to counter & presented My phone to repair I was told that They don't repair Phones & that they do sell an apple phone service but they don't even repair those they can send those phones out for certain repairs but they have never repaired phones.I immediately requested I be refunded for the plan I had purchased less than an hour before. I was told I would have to call an 800 # to cancel. I had to drive back home to call them to cancel. The person on the phone started to try & tell Me that normally that they wouldn't refund Tech support but that since I had Just purchased it @ this point near only 2 hours earlier that it wouldn't be a problem. He apologized multiple times for the confusion.
I checked repeatedly to see the refund back on My Credit Card but 10 days later it was still not there. I called & kept getting transferred from dept to dept then told It takes 10 to 15 days to see my refund. 15 days later I got a $49.99 Gift Card in the Mail saying this is the remaining unused portion of My canceled $199.99 Total Tech Support. I checked My Credit Card account no refund. I called again & kept getting transferred all over the place being told a whole host of different things. But promised that My Cancelation has gone through & that the Gift Card was just because of all the trouble I had gone through. I pointed out that it clearly stated that it was Refund payment in full of the Tech Support plan. I was told that I should ignore what it says that I could safely spend the Gift Card & I would see the Refund of the $199.99 back on My Card very soon The She personally would expedite the process to get it done ASAP.
After another week the payment was not there & I still haven't touched the Gift Card. I contacted My Credit Card Company & filed a dispute/report. The Card refunded & canceled the purchase with Best Buy. 24: hrs later the $199.99 was returned to My card. Best Buy has still not acknowledged returning My $199.99. I have gotten no emails or calls telling Me that they completed the refund only that My Plan was canceled as of the same day I purchased it & before they sent Me the $49.99 Gift Card.
Don't trust that store they show an overwhelming level of Greed & double talk & manipulation.
