I brought a car from BEST BUY Auto Inc. on December 6, 2008. On December the 12, 2008 I had received a call on my answering machine asking me to call about the car. When I called Kevin told me that in order to keep the car I would need a co-signer. When I initially brought the car I informed Kevin that I am doing the car loan on my own that I am not using a co-signer.

So, when he informed me of this I reiterated that my husband is not going to go for it and neither am I. After informing my husband about the conversation with Kevin, I called backed to tell him since my husband and I both say no to him co-signing what happens next. He informed me that I would have to return the car. December 13, 2008 I returned the car. I gave back both sets of car keys and the paper work except the deposit slip for $800.00 down payment. Kevin told me that the check will be cut the week of December 22, 2008.

Tuesday December 23, 2008 I called and spoke with Kevin to see if my refund was ready. He told me that the person did not come in on Monday or that day. December 24, 2008 I asked my husband to call to see if the refund was ready. He was informed by Ed to call back in an hour and ask for Brad this was at 10:50am.

At 12pm I called and asked for Brad and was told by Jimmy that he just stepped out to the store and should be back in thirty minutes. I waited and called back around 12:43pm and spoke with Tom who told me that Brad had not returned yet but should be back in about a half hour. I called back again at 1:05pm from my house phone this time and asked for Brad. Tom asked who was calling when I gave my name he said that Brad was not in today. When I told him that I was told he was out shopping and would be back to call back if they knew he wasn't there. Tom said he just left at 12:45pm. I then inquired if anyone told him that I called. Tom said he didn't know he just works there. Inquired why I am getting a run around when they have the car back. He stated your money is as good as gold". I asked him do I need to bring channels 6, 3, and 10 with him to get my money back. He said do what you have to do". But in the meantime I am out of $800.00, and playing phone tag trying to get my money back.

They also over charged me too. The car was selling for 10,995.00 but after financing was done it would have been 17, 995 for a car with 72,366 miles. Of that it was only being financed for the 10,995.

Well it sounds like you didn't have the credit to get a loan. The F&I guy should have caught this before you left. As for the price of the car you only got ripped off if you decided to pay that much, you can always walk away. As for the $800 I am a bit torn. You did have the car for a while but it sounds like the deposit was refundable. You need to check into this since it may not have been. Overall I doubt the TV Stations will come with over this since it was your credit issue that caused the original problem. Best course of action is as follows. 1. Talk to the highest person you can at the dealership in person. I stress in person. 2. Contact the BBB if you do not get the money back. 3. If you still don't get the money back contact your state's attorney general. 4. If all else fails sue in small claims. I expect by step 1 or 2 you should have your money back. If you don't then the deposit was not refundable and it will likely hold up in court so 3 and 4 may do no good. Either way good luck.
