We went to Best Buy to purchase specific DVD's, that were promoted in a mailing.

We went to the store to buy the DVD's, and were unable to find the ones we were looking for.

We asked the employee to check in the store room to see if the DVD's were back there, they had done this in the past, and have found them for us.

The employee would not do this for us, but was very rude, and told us to go on-line and purchase them from there, that the shipping was free.

I am so tired of nobody ever wanting to do their job, and just pawning customers off, by referring them to a web site or an 800 number...

So, we left and I went home to try to buy them on-line.

I found the DVD's on there I wanted, but when I tried to place my order, the web site was screwed up, and was saying that for two of the three DVD's that the shipping address was not able to be shipped to. I was having all three sent to the same address, my home address, so I knew there was a problem with the site, since for the one DVD, it could be shipped to our address.

So, now I call the 888 line to try to get assistance with the site, and nobody answers. I was waiting for over 15 minutes! What kind of a company doesn't have people to answer phone calls? AOL is even worse!!! Anyway, I got sick of waiting, and listening to the recording telling me over and over again that someone would be there soon, but it never told how long the wait would be.

So I hung up, and tried putting my order through again...

This time, it worked. What a pain!!!

I sent an e-mail to the Best Buy customer service, letting them know how disappointed I was with their brick and mortar store, their web site, and even more frustrating 888 line, where a live person doesn't answer.

They sent an e-mail saying that they would respond in a few days, and they never sent me any response to my e-mail! Nice customer service...

I took the time to fill out their satisfaction survey, after I used the on-line service, so my responses are there, and maybe they will find a way to better their service.

It is so agitating to be trying to make a purchase, and the receiving company does their best to try to get you to shop somewhere else.

Man, these stores today have the worst service imaginable...

You can't even try to spend money anymore, without being told to go to a web site...

These brick and mortar stores just don't get it...

Amazes me.

What is bad it that we have spent so much money at best buy... We bought a 65" tv, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and countless other things.

So, they have gotten literally thousands of $$$ from us!!! The TV with the accessories was about $4000.00, so think about how much money they get, and then have people that they probably underpay, that don't give a rip, and treat customers like crap... These companies make a fortune, and provide crappy service, knowing they get enough money, and don't have to really care about customers.

Oh, one last thing to my dear friend Shawangunk... I am quite sure you will try to tell me to cry a river again, like you do to everyone...

You also don't get it... There are real service problems in this country...

We'll see if you think Best Buy was in the right.

I, however, think that terrible service is agitating, frustrating, and poor in the ethics area...

It is a sad thing....

I'm sorry but you're completely and utterly wrong. The employee was completely right in not checking in the back for the movies. If you had asked, you would have found out that the only time they ever have movies in the back is when they are getting them off their truck. They put them on a cart and immediately put them out on the floor to begin putting them on the shelf. Don't just assume the employee isn't doing their job. They are. You should have just looked on for the movies yourself anyway. Quit dragging some poor guy or girl over to help you find something really obscure. They have much much much better things to do. Another thing you probably should have looked for, and I can't believe you missed it, is the obvious computer stations they have set up across the store. If you go to one of those and type in what your looking for it'll tell you if they carry it or not. Another thing, quit complaining about the website. It's a big website with thousands and thousands of products on it. It's bound to have a few glitches. Just be patient and wait a day. They'll resolve it as fast as they can and usually they do it pretty quickly. The people at Best Buy and all stores alike it work very hard for very little money. They do the best they can with what little incentive they have to do it. As a customer you need to be less lazy and more polite. I know thats what I try to do and it makes a huge difference to them.
