Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Ctr Austin Stone, Billing/Refund Manager They sent my mother a refund check (or settlement?)in March 2018. She passed in 2015. They were to reissue check to me. They haven't as yet. Phoenix Arizona
In March 2018, I received a check for my mother. Im not sure if it was a settlement check or a refund, as she had her surgery a few years or so before she passed.
I took the check to the bank where her account was being held open for such things, and they had finally closed it because nothing had come in. They told me I could open an account and they would cash it as they had all the info on file that I was responsible for her estate. I chose not to as I would be in Phoenix the next day and could go to their offices.
The following day, in Phoenix, I was sent to the Marketing offices where they handle the refunds. I spoke with a couple of ladies there and they made copies of all my paperwork, and the check. One lady went to the back to talk to the manager then came back and said there would be no problem with issuing a new check in my name.
They kept the check, but gave me a copy of it, and I was assuree that Austin Stone, the Manager (who they had just spoken to in the back) would create a new check made out to me and that it would be sent within the next 2 weeks. As I was preparing to move, I said I would call with the new address as soon as I had it and that it could be a month.
It took longer to get moved than expected and I forgot about it. I didn't call them with the address until I finally had a POB in May. When I still didn't have a check by June, I called and spoke with Austin Stone on June 16th at 1:25 pm. I was assured she would take care of it right away.
I left her a message on June 29th because it still hadn't arrived, and received no response. I left another message in mid July around the 18th and another message at the end of the month. It is August 9th and I've just left yet another message. At this point, I feel they shouldpay interest on this check of $327.85!
