In October of 2004 we took delivery of a bedroom set and dining room chairs to go with our already purchased dining room table.

When the workman were assembling the poster bed, I noticed a bar on the poster where it had been scratched down to the veneer.

I then noticed one of the dining room chairs had obviously had a rough ride to our home, as it has several gashes out of the wood. We contacted Ashley the next day and they scheduled a customer service rep to come to our home 11/9. My husband showed him the

damage and indicated we wanted the chair replaced and the poster to the bed. He replied that he would turn in this request, and if Ashley had a problem with it, they would contact us.

We never heard another word, so assumed both items were on order. I called them Jan 5, 2005 and was told that on 11/10/04 the workman had written on his report that we had refused repair. nothing further was done, and no call to us. When I called in Jan I was told that per the terms of our contract we must allow them to fix it.

Why should we have to pay good money for damaged goods that were damaged, I am assuming upon delivery?

I see many complaints against this company. Many we should get together and bring a class action suit against Ashley for deceptive business practices, as this policy was NEVER disclosed to us, nor do other furniture stores operate in this manner!
