I tried several types of software from Ascentive. The first time about Oct 2004. I was hounded with email and subsequently stupidly subscribed twice for the same software.

I abandonded the software after compaining and never receiving the refund. I then tried Active SApeed and canceled the software by internet and received the notice of cancelation on the 17th of April.

Just when I thought I was home free on the issue, they charged my credit card again on April 24th for the software after the aforementioned approved cancellation .

I was on the phone with the following person for over one hour arguing and submitting emails proving that another company rep had spoken to me on the 17th of April and approved the cancellation.

She then proceeded to tell me that my subscription was in fact cancelled but that no one told me I would get a refund. She then said that I had no record of the conversation with the company and that I was now outside of the 30 day trial period and not eligible for any money being returned.

I started questioning the Owner of the comapny adrress and name and she just flat hung up on me after the hour on the phone. She is obviously a a trained goose step employee who does not care how the company makes thier money. The fact that they will not give prompt and fast, courteous refunds shows how bad they really are. I am so disgusted with Ascentive Software and all thier garbage programs . They simply do not work. Buyer Beware!!!!!

This is not the way it went down at all.. They don't even tell the truth when they are caught in the act. The money has not benn refunded firts of all. None of it. I have paid for two duplicate subscriptions that I was promised a refund and never received it. Then I tried Active speed and the 30 days came due and I wanted to cancel as it does not work. I spoke with a a rep within the 30 day period. Then I received a notice by e-mail they wanted to charge my credit card and they could not, I called and reaffirmed the cancelation by email on the 17th and then the 24th they charged my credit card for the $39.95 for the subscription service. I then received the bank statement showing the charge, I called and attempted to get th nmoney refunded. The rest is history. Obnoxious customer service, no refund and here we stand with another pack of lies that they don't care about customer care service or whatever. I am not ashamed to say what I think of this company. They are worthless and don't deserve to be in business at all with this compendium of lies. They will not refund the money. I know that by the way they handle the calls that people make to get satisfaction for consumer complaints. If they really had a good product to sell they would be sure to be successful.

On April 17, 2006 This customer emailed a cancellation request due to duplicate order purchasing. After researching his accounts, there are no duplicate orders placed. This customer has 2 different account with us that contain 2 different subscriptions (1-order placed Sept 2005 & 1 order placed March 14 2006). The email that he sent contained his username for a subscription that was ordered over 8 months ago. Our refund/cancellation policy for annual subscriptions is a 30 day money back guarantee. (Please read EULA). Since the username provided was for the order placed in Sept 2005, we were unable to process his request. Even if this cancellation request was for his order placed on March 14, 2006, this request would have been denied since it was still outside of the alloted 30 day money back guarantee. Regardless of where the mistake lies, Ascentive has taken the courtesy to refund this customer's account in full.
