I've been reading some of the many ripoff reports about Arcadia and thought I would add my own. I have been dealing with Arcadia for 4 long years now. I didn't have too many problems with them at first. They would call every once in a while if my payment had been received late, no big deal. Then they started calling every week to check on our correct address, work phone, etc. Then they started calling my husband and I at work days before our payment was even due to ask if we had sent it out yet and if not do we want to do a check by phone.

I teach school and can't tell you how many times I would have to leave in the middle of a lesson to speak with them! Now, for the past 3 months, they call me at least 4 times a day if I have a payment due or not. If I have one coming due, they wnt to know when I will mail it, do I want to pay an extra fee and do a check by phone, do I know my due date(duh!). If I already made a payment they want to know why it was late (even if it wasn't) and do I know how to make payments on time. I have told them that if they don't stop harassing me, I will file a complaint with the States Attorney. This does not help, they have started calling my relatives (how they got their names and numbers, I have no idea.)

I recently changed my phone number because I was so sick of their calls, so they called my grandmother and told her that if she didn't give them my phone number that they would come and take my car away. (I was 2 days late on my payment.) She just about had a heart attack, she got so scared and she gave them my number. Now they are calling me 4+ times a day again. I can't wait to pay these blood sucking vampires off and get rid of them!

Write a limited cease and desist letter

#2Consumer Suggestion

Write a limited cease and desist letter demanding that they stop calling you at work since your boss forbids you from accepting personal business calls there. Then talk to the secretary and ask her to simply take messages for any calls recieved unless it is an emergency by immediate family. Your kids come first and you don't like leaving the classroom. Simply have them take a name and number. It will take a couple of weeks, but when this group sees that the school secretary is not going to get you out of class at their request and that you will return the call when you are not busy with the children, then they will stop calling. Hopefully. If they don't just keep a recorded log of messages from the secretary and have the secretary attest to it for future harrassment charges. They cannot endanger your livelihood with this stuff.
