My husband got this in the mail and when the repair kit didnt have anything in it he didn't already know, He promplty sent it back and was told it would be cancelled. It was cancelled with an owing balance. That they have had on his credit report now for 5 years.

I need to know how to get it off, we don't even mind paying it, if they would agreed to delete or send me a deletion letter for me to send to the credit bureaus but they wont even do that. I don't just want a $0 balance I want it off. We are trying to buy a house. They still have it as an open account with 58 (120 day) late notices on his report.

What can we do! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Colorado State Attorneys office. Also, I just sent them a letter and copied the above and all the Credit bureaus asking the for all documentation of this account. I am to believe that if they don't send it to me they HAVE to delete it. You can dispute it with the credit bureaus but I was told by an attorney that when they ask for verification of an account, the company just sends they an amount due and confirms they have account in you name.

Most of the time they dont have one piece of paper. It's been five years I bet they don't have anything. My main problem is after two years my husband threw away the return reciept by accident in some other stuff, so we don't have that.

Help!! is there anything else we can do?
