American Advantage American SCAM...NO ACTUAL JOB Saint Louis, Missouri
At the end of August, my daughter was born. Shortly thereafter, I began applying for jobs off of Craigslist as I have been most successful finding jobs through them in the past. About the 2nd week of September, I got a message from Rebecca at "American" and that they wanted to interview me for an office manager position that I had applied for. The first thing that was a little suspicious was the fact that it was a "management" position since I don't have any experience and how was I going to make $40K/year starting out with no experience? Then, they told me to park at the Mid American Arms parking lot since theirs was "under construction".
I got to the interview and there was music from the Top 40 charts blaring in the office and all the windows were covered with white butcher type paper. Also, Rebecca was sitting there in front of me at the desk still calling other "candidates". I was led inside April's office where she took more than 20 minutes of my time before actually coming in to interview me (I was severely late picking my kids up from the sitters so not only did she cost me time and gas, she cost me money!). The minute that she said they were selling fragrances, I asked her if they were at all connected with Five Star Management who had tried to "hire" me last year. She got super defensive and asked me if I even wanted the job and if I wasn't going to trust her why did I bother to come.
When I left, I told them I wasn't going to bother to call and that they needed to lose my contact information. I also took back the hard copy of my resume that they had asked for because I didn't need them having any way to try to scam me again. So, beware. I knew that this was going on in St. Louis, but I surely didn't think they'd try to get me a 2nd time.
