After trying to get to Microsoft with a technical issue, this company leads me to believe they were acting in part for Microsoft since I was on the Microsoft site. After helping me with the issue, they talked me into buying 3 years protection with McAfee and 3 years of tech support 24/7. This for the cost of $400.
After a couple of months service, they started pressuring me into buying additional products for my computer to run smoothly. I finally drew the line and told them I didn't want their high handed pressure every time I contacted them. I asked for a refund of some of the money I had paid them because I didn't want their services and high handedness. They told me to go to my bank and have the money charged back to my account. My bank said they couldn't do that.
I relayed the message to "Roger" at a phone number I was given as his own number. He consulted for several minutes with his accounting people, he said, and they were to issue a check to me and I should have it in a couple of weeks. After a couple of weeks with no check, I tried calling the number I was given, which was disconnected. The service number for computer help had also been disconnected. Lesson learned--DO NOT GET INVOLVED WITH ANYONE OVER THE INTERNET FOR HELP.
AIL IS, IN MY OPINION, A RIP OFF OF THE ELDERLY. This is a hurtful lesson for a person on a fixed income. Beware AIL stinks. They broke our "contract" by disconnecting ways to get their service.
