Because you live in California you are entitled to a four hour time window per California Civil Code, Section 1722. I am surprised the OP isn't aware of this law. The service company cannot change the time window without the customer's agreement. In your case, Sears/A&E should have offered a two hour window to you when they couldn't meet the original four time window. It is unfortunate that Sears/A&E people are ignorant of this California law because customers like the OP can sue for up to $600 in small claims court for compensation for lost time and wages.
