Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Here are some reviews written by customers who dealt with them as you don't have o take my words for it, these people are crooks, liars, veryyy Disrespectfull do NOT ADEAL WITH THEM RATHER GO TOEOTHER ADORAMA very respectful people right around the corner, or perhaps B&H way better prices and brand new unlike their refurbished and claiming brand new!!! So here read some of the review written by people that bought from their ebay store -->username ---> 17thstreetphoto, or their store located at 33 west 17th street these people are NOT supposed to be in business they have very rude and Disrespectfull people working for them that are past criminals with bunch of convictions again don't take my word for it check their names and their records , here we go reviews written by some of their people! . . . ."LIARS AND THIEVES

Stay away from this shady outfit. They charge for expedited shipping, take your money, and send it as slow as it can go. They refuse to answer emails when you point out their mistake. Save time, hassle, and money - you are better off going anywhere else." . . . COMPLETE IDIOTS ! On a 1-10 rating 10 being the highest I would give them a -57. That is how I was treated when I came to them with a defective product that I had purchased from them less that 30 days old. The owner called me a "Jack a*s" which I could not believe my ears. I was appauled by the disrespect and absurd language they used. First I found I was over charged and secondly they do not have a return policy. You buy it you own it. There are no returns. I guess this is because they know they are selling products that they buy from the back of a truck and they have no recourse. The owner is the worse. Uses foul language to think he can intimidate you. Well I have new for 17th Street Photo, you are the a*s not the customer !!! And from now on I will buy from ANYONE BUT 17th Street Photo. Absolute thieves!!! So as I said if you plan to buy think twice !!!" . . . . "I ordered an Olympus MAL-1 macro light from 17th Street Photo through Amazon. After a few days with no information about my order, I followed up with the seller to ask if they had shipped, and if they had a tracking number. They did not bother to respond. This item is very hard to get and is sold out everywhere, except if you want to pay double the price on eBay. A couple of days later, I followed up with another email, and once again, they failed to acknowledge my inquiry in any way. I suspect they sold out and never updated their information on Amazon. Finally, I was forced to go through the Amazon Third Party Guarantee Program in order to extract a refund from the seller. 17th Street Photo failed me at every step of the process and never even offered a reason why, a refund, or an apology. The only thing that separates 17th Street Photo from the notorious Brooklyn Camera Scam shops is a bridge. " . . .This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Rude and they refused to take back a defective item (portable DVD player)because I did not have the original packaging. Do not use them or Amazon as the middle man as Amazon will not stand up to damaged merchandise either. I hope they go out of business with their poor customer service. . . . "Ordered the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR DI-II VC LD Lens f/Nikon from 17photo.com. Although shipping was prompt, I received the totally wrong item.

On top of receiving the wrong item, 17photo says I have to pay for the shipping to return the wrong item back to them! Save the hassle and buy from a more legitimate seller that will back up their mistakes. That just completely ruined the purchasing experience!" . . .either way who ever you deal with Sam, mike John or Peter the Paul they are all on the same page, very rude, verrrrrry rude, they curse at you, tell you to eat sh** so you telling me that's how to talk to customers??? Yeah right! You will never never ever get a response like that from B&H for example or perhaps Adorama, or even J&R very professional unlike small dirty and nasty 17th street photo store do not i repeat do not buy anything online only if you physically go to the store this way you could see what you buy and trust me they will be ice UNTILL you hand them the money right after that done! No more smiles just simply get out of he believe me dwell if you don't go ahead and experience it for yourself!

Thank you guys for this report.

Over the years, I have seen and heard lots about the electronic stores in NYC and the overall terrible reputations and how they sell used and refurbished equipments as new etc. and the stories go on and on.

It has been almost 20 years since I moved from the East coast to the West coast and while out here we do get our share of such retailors non quite as bad as those in NYC.

A few days ago I placed an online order with the 17th street photo and today read this report and simply could not take the risk of a potential problem with an expensive order and the hassles of dealing with them knowing not much I could do once they get their hands on my money. So to make the long story short I cancelled my order.

thank you again for your report.
