USPS - US Postal Service Delivery Confirmation is totally useless when they lose your package! 6 weeks and my package is still MIA. Nationwide
I mailed a 1st class package on 24 Mar 09 with delivery confirmation from my local post office in Perkinston, MS. The delivery confirmation Track & Confirm results show "Your item was processed and left our CHARLESTON, WV 25350 facility on March 25, 2009. No further information is available for this item." The package still has not shown up at it's Pounding Mill VA destination. I have contacted usps.com's help desk 4 times about this package, plus talked to my local post office. My local post office says they can't do anything further. I have to agree with them because the Track & Confirm page clearly shows the package left them and made it to WV. The problem is that apparently the USPS doesn't think it's their responsibility anymore. The lastest response I got from them says---We do not have any additional information regarding your item in this department. You are welcome to contact the facility that handled your issue (my local post office) to gather additional information. We cannot guarantee that additional information will be available. Is that passing the buck or what? Gee, "we're so sorry, but we didn't deliver your package, you paid extra for Delivery Confirmation, but that's your problem because we can't help you any further?" Needless to say, the USPS is definitely on my list of useless organizations that have no accountability for their actions!
