Twitter - Beware Latest Campaign to Deliberately Overcharge I am President of a non profit. On July 23rd we set up a campaign to send out a very simple Tweet, about an activity that we had undertaken. The Ad campaign was set up exactly as we have set it up before, with a maximum spend of 50 USD. The ad was immediately rejected. The error message said that we should refer to the Twitter Policy Guidelines. We then set up a brand new campaign with some different wording. This was approved. Again, the maximum ad spend was supposed to be 50 USD. Last week it was brought to my attention by the Treasurer that Twitter not only approved the first campaign without notifying us, but they also set the Ad spend at several hundred times what we set it at.
They did that for both campaigns. I have emailed Twitter many times, and all that comes back is a non legible copy of their platform. They refuse to address the issue. They also refuse to admit that their audit trail would show that the first campaign was rejected. They are now refusing to refund the inappropriate ad spend. We had to cancel the credit card to stop them from continuing to charge us. Also, they do not let you know immediately what the charge is, so you cannot immediately follow up to request a correction. Do not use Twitter Ad campaigns.

After running several ads successfully, one becomes comfortable, and then the system that was previously working, deliberately sets overcharging. Nameless faceless people are not interested in resolving challenges as they arrive.
