Complaint Review: Tax Saving Professionals Vero Beach Florida - Vero Beach, FL

UPDATE: One by one, every single syndicated conservation easement tax savings professionals has got us involved in has been disallowed by the IRS. My understanding is that the IRS is saying either the appraisal of the lands involved in the programs that were sold to us by Drew Miles and Tax Savings Professionals are artificially inflated way more than what they should be, or they did not follow the letter of the law when setting these up and were inflating the value of the tax credit. IMHO there may be criminal activity going on considering the number of these easements that are being disallowed by the IRS. How can anyone be wrong on every appraisal or how the program was set up if it was being done legitimately?

BEWARE....... Very bad experience with this company. They had us invest 371,000 in a company that was supposed to be producing clean coal to gain tax credits to save us on our income taxes. They charged us 50,000 for their service. The clean coal company was a complete scam run by a guy with a long history of being a con artist. It became obvious they did not vet this man or his company before advising their clients to send this company millions of dollars after the trail of this guy in court. The problem was that it took years for the trial to take place and all of this to come out. Drew Miles the attorney who owns Pathfinders (they changed the name after the clean coal incident to Tax Savings Professionals) assured us that this man would be found innocent the entire time leading up to his trial. He told us that he personally along with others from Pathfinders had been to the operation and had seen clean coal being made and that this was a very real operation. They told us it would take a number of years before this man would go to trial, and he would be found innocent. Drew Miles and his company were not charged with a crime, so we took him at his word that everything was kosher with the clean coal company, since they had been there and carefully vetted the investment before advising clients to put their money there. They then advised us to begin investing in conservation easements, which they said they had already been using for many years as a way to reduce taxes for their clients. They said these were completely legal and showed us information to that effect. Since Drew was a tax attorney involved in the business of helping clients to reduce taxes, and we did read articles about conservation easements as legitimate ways to help conserve land for non-development, we decided to invest in these.Fast-forward to 2020. The clean coal guy is convicted of fraud, and we get a large tax bill from the IRS. We contact Drew about the insurance his company has to make us whole as he promised for the bad advice we were given investing in the clean coal company, they recommended, and they inform us they are not liable for our loses. We then contact an attorney about the loss due to Pathfinders bad advice, and he informs us that the conservation easements are also being looked at by the Justice Department and is now on their dirty dozen tax fraud schemes of the IRS. They were added to the dirty dozen list in 2018, but Tax Savings Professionals made no mention to us about this and were still recommending the conservation easements to all their clients. They still are recommending these. Go to their website and you will see this. They draw innocent people in by placing radio advertisements using the fact their company is run by a tax attorney and CPA and then put a bunch of family nonsense all over the website and tell you they have been operating for years saving doctors, dentists, professionals, millions of dollars in taxes legally but the only real thing that saves lots of taxes they are pushing are syndicated conservation easements which have been on the IRS dirty dozen tax schemes since 2018 and that is why they are still pushing them today even knowing they are on the IRS dirty dozen list.

BEWARE is all I can tell you about these people. This has been a never-ending nightmare.
