I purchased Craftsman tools from Sears that had a lifetime warranty. I've recently tried to get warranty service through Stanley Black & Decker (the new owner of Craftsman tools, request 9339659) and I was informed that they do no offer Craftsman products or parts??? When I go to Lowes I see the Craftsman tools and they still claim to have a lifetime warranty. How can I trust Craftsman tools if they don't honor the original lifetime warranty that came with the tool that I purchased from Sears? The support folks sent me a schematic of my product (Model Number: 315.172100) and stated that the product is no longer available. Why am I not being offered a similar replacement product from the existing line of corded Jigsaws that Craftsman offers that is currently available?? I cut about 20 feet of wood with my original Jigsaw and the base plate plastic has cracked when I recently tried to use the saw. I went to Lowes to try to get resolution but they provided me with a Craftsman phone number to call that was totally useless since the verbal recognition software used in the call center gets the model information verbally provided wrong 100% of the time. Then, I went online and got a quick response saying that my "Lifetime Warranty" original model is no longer available. No similar product replacement was offered!!! My Grandpa retired from the Sears store in Tucson Arizona and insisted that I always purchase Craftsman tools because of the "Lifetime Warranty." When I graduated college and starting building my tool inventory (without a lot of money) I paid extra for Craftsman tools because of the lifetime warranty. Now that I need it, the "Lifetime Warranty" I was supposed to have is useless and I'm provided a schematic of a saw that I own where no replacement parts are available and the product is no longer available and basically told by customer service that there is nothing that they can do. It's comical, they wanted feedback about their service experience too!! What a joke!! I would steer clear of Craftsman tools. Go to Harbor Freight and get the same imported tools with a lifetime warranty and if it breaks you can go down and quickly exchange it at no charge versus spending hours trying to navigate the Craftsman warranty page just to end up getting the complete runaround with no resolution. The support team also wanted my original receipt from the late eighties to help me!! My Grandpa would be embarrassed (if he were still alive) about what Craftsman has done with its products and the customer service which was once the gold-standard in the tool industry.

Grandpa told you that Craftsman hand tools (not power tools) have a lifetime warranty. Craftsman power tools have a one-year warranty.
