My wife and I received a postcard in the mail for a free cruise.   We just had to attend a demonstration.

On 12/6/08 we went to a Royal Palm Vacation demonstration which seemed very intriguing.  We asked several questions about the vacation before we made our decision.  We decided to purchase the product based on the information provided by the representative.  Before we signed off on any paperwork we were told that we would have up to 72 hours to cancel if we were not satisfied once we were given our login and password for their website.

We were never contacted with our login information until 12/9 after the time period of 72 hours was up.  When we entered the web site with our login information we found out that the information provided to us at the demonstration was false information.   They did not have the vacation areas that we had requested and the 5 star condos did not exist.   We immediately tried to cancel our contract but there was no answer at 5:00 pm.

On 12/10 I called again and was told it was too late to cancel as it was past the 72 hour period to cancel and that we had no valid reason to cancel.   The contract did not state that there had to be a valid reason just that if we were not satisfied we could cancel and we were not satisfied at all.

We paid out $4,199.00 for a vacation that was not legit at all.  We contacted our credit card company immediately to investigate the scam and after about 1 month we were told we could not get our money back because we did not cancel within the 72 hours.

We contacted Capital Finance which was their financial group and were told we could not get our money back.

We contacted the Better Business Bureau and were told we could not get our money back as we had no legit reason to cancel.   No one seems to care that we were scammed by this company and we would like someone to please help us recover our money.
