Complaint Review: PRIORITY WRECKER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN - Nashville TN

We had a car shipped to us from Florida. The driver accidentally had the car slip off the track as he unloaded it, so the car was suspended with the front wheels off the track of the hauler truck. We called this company "PRIORITY WRECKER SERVICE" and they send a boom wrecker truck. On the phone they told us they charge $750.00 per hour, which sounded outrageous to begin with. II called another company that was far less expensive but they told me their boom wrecker was out of service. I tried a few more but no luck so I was forced to use priority wrecker. The owner told me on the phone they are 20 miutes away, and the job should not take more than an hour. They arived 30 minutes later.

The operator tried a certain way but then abandoned that way and tried another way. It seemed he was taking his time, not in a rush at all. He took about one hour to get the car on the ground. THEN, he told us the cost would be $3500.00!!!. I was shocked to the core! He told me his boss gave that amount, and that their truck costs a million dollars thus they charge so much money. I  called his boss and complained and after back and forth arguing he agreed to only charge for TWO HOURS, yet the job took an hour. He stated he is charging us for the time it took to get there PLUS the time it takes them to go back to their depot...whaaat? SINCE WHEN do you charge people for the drive time it took to get to you and get back to your depot afetr the job was done???

He threatened to not let the car off the chains unless we pay. THEN he stated he only wants CASH or ZELLE, and will not accept a credit card nor debit card, which left us scrambling on finding the way to do it as first, we don't just keep that amount of cash around ($2360.00) and cash machines will only allow $600.00 at a time, and also ZELLE only allows us $600.00 a time with our bank. The DRIVER of the car hauler was actually responsible for the bill, he was Mexican, did not speak English well and he own his company. He agreed to pay but also faced the dilemma of Priority wrecker NOT taking CC's or debit cards.

We all tried hard to come up with the money while the owner then loaded the car up on his wrecker truck ready to take it. We finally decided on using CASHAPP, and the Mexican driver paid us through PAYPAL, another pmt way, Priority Wrecker refused to take. He complained about Paypal fees. So we paid him through CASHAPP, and he stated he now wanted $2500.00 because of CASHAPP fees. We paid it, and he checked on his phone to see if he received it, Upon pamt confirmation he then turned to us say "I NEED ANOTHER $500.00 because I've been here for longer time waiting on you to pay me!!! In other words he refuses credit cards and debit cards and want US to pay a penalty for it, because he only accept CASH and ZELLE???

So he takes $2500.00 and then EXTORTED MORE MONEY from us right there, holding the car as ransom on his wrecker truck! I was about to call the police, as first WE were not responsible for his fee, the Mexican owner of the car hauler was, thus we could show the police it was our car, and his bill is with the Mexican carhauler owner. I just wanted the ordeal over with, and just GAVE it to him. The Mexican owner paid me back thankfully.

This Priority owner is a sheister, very immoral individual and have no shame charging these kind of fees with threats of taking your car of course. He extorted, the police would have told him to take our car of his wrecker as we already paid him what he wanted, and after that pmt he decided to EXTORT MORE money from us NOT agreed upon. This company should be put out of business, they are unethical. When he said okay 2 hours intead of 3 knowing they were just there for ONE hour, I felt nauseaous. I confronted him when he arrived on the scene and he became agressive saying he doesn't care what I have to say.

If I could get away with it I would have dropped him with an uppercut he would never have forgotten, as I am a skilled trained martial artist. He is a big bodied individual and use that of course to intimidate, little does he know. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, UNETHICAL outrageous charges, bold robbery. They are an abomination to mankind. Call Donelson wrecker service instead, they told me as well to never use Priority as Priority Wrecker gives all wrecker service companies a bad name.
