M/B SPRINTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IF YOU OWN THIS VEHICLE YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER IN ORDER TO GET THE FAULY CODE READ.M/B HAS PROGRAM THAT REJECT ANY OTHER CODE READER TO REPORT ISSUES.I DONE BUSINESS AT THIS DEALER BEFORE AND NEVER HAD ANY REASON TO NOT TO TRUST THEM.

ASKED THE SERVICE WRITER MR NIC HOWARD TO CHECK OUT THE FAULT ON CHECK ENGINE LITE AND ADVISE.TOLD HIM WHILE THEY HAD MY VAN TO REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER AND THE ENGINE AIR FILTER AND A BURN OUT LIGTH BULB.HE FOUND THAT THERE A RECALL ON THE AIR BAG FROM M/B HE ADDED THAT TO THE WORK ORDER.TOLD HIM ANY PARTS THAT WERE REMOVED FROM THE VAN BE SAVED AND RETURNED TO ME.

HE AGREED BY TELLING ME ALL ABOUT STATE LAW ECT.I REC'D A PHONE CALL FROM NIC HOWARD AND HE ADVISED ME OF FAULTY EGR VALUE AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A TOTAL CHARGE OF $2900. I FELT THIS WAS A BET HIGH FOR THE THIS REPAIR.I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T WANT TO DO THIS REPAIR.

THE NEXT DAY I REC'D A TEXT MESSAGE ON MY PHONE WANTING ME TO RETURN THE MESSAGE WITH MY CREDIT CARD # IN THE AMOUNT OF $1253.63. I TEXTED HIM BACK ASKING HIM TO CALL ME TO DISCUSS THE BILL,ALL TO AVAIL.I CALLED HIM BACK AND LEFT THREE MESSAGES ALL TO NO AVAIL.IT WAS UNTIL I CALLED THE MAIN NUMBER AND AND SPOKE TO SOME GIRL THAT HE RETURED MY CALL.

I ASKED HIM AFTER I REVIEWED THE BILL THAT HE ADDED A 60K SERVICE TO BE DONE.I WHEN OVER THE WORK ORDER ON THE FOUR ITEMS WE DISCUSSED.HE TOLD ME THAT I HAVE SIGNED AN WORK ORDER FOR A OIL CHANGE AND FILTER AND I LIST OF ITEMS THAT IS DONE ON THAT 60K SERVICE.AT THIS POINT I REALIZED WHAT I WAS UP AGAINST AND HE AGREED TO CREDIT ME THE OIL CHANGE AND FILTER SINCE I JUST CHANGED THE OIL 4K MILES AGO.

WHEN I GOT TO THJE DEALERSHIP TO PICK UP MY VAN AND TO DISCUSS THE BILLING THE FRIST THING HE SAID TO ME "WELL I DIDN'T THINK I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN".I ASKED TO SEE THE WORK ORDER I SIGNED AND HE SAID IT WAS IN THE BACK AND IT TAKE TIME TO FIND IT. I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT HAPPY THAT I WAS TO PAID $889.

FOR WORK THAT SHOULD BE HALF THAT AMOUNT,HE JUST SEAT THERE AND NEVER SAID A WORD,HE LOOKED AT ME AND SAID YOU CAN PAY HERE PUT YOUR CREDIT CARD IN THE READER.I ASKED FOR THE PARTS THEY REMOVED AND HE SAID THEY MUST TRASHED THEM.I PAID THE BILL AND I LEFT SO MAD.BEWARE OF CROOKS.

 If they told you nobody else can access those codes, what would you expect them to say? Check around for a good independent shop and do business there. I don't mean Walmart, a tire store or a transmission chain. There's never, ever any reason for you to take non-warranty work to ANY dealer. What you find at dealers is PRICE GOUGING, poor customer service and parts changers who call themselves mechanics.

The FRAUD and DECEPTION which is a mainstay in the sales department has also flown into the shop. You have no idea whom you're dealing with since car dealerships are a place where ex-cons, felons, child molesters and other criminals can easily get a job. Remember...find an independent shop and NEVER go to ANY dealership for repairs unless you want to be price gouged by incompetent parts changers.
