Complaint Review: LLC Insurance Agency - Chicago Illinois

  Hi! This happened to me recently as well with SDM transport and I’m currently looking at my legal options - I have seen no one successfully get the money they’re owed for the damage on their car, and was wondering how (and if) you were ever able to resolve it with them?!? Thank you!!

So here is the point....   a proper claim can not be started unless the trucking company .... SDM ... gives the customer a properly filled out bill of lading at both point A and point B.   Because SDM fails to do this.... there can never be a claim against them unless extraordinary measures are taken.  I should have called the police immediately when I received my car and a proper bill of lading was not provided.  I would have had an incident report to show the judge what happened and I would have won my case!  Driver guilty of mis-conduct!  

LLC allows SDM to continue to haul cars even though they now know that SDM does not follow industry guidelines.  This review will serve as further proof to any new claims for damage that LLC allows this carrier to continue to violate FMCSA rules (Federal Motor Carrier Safey Administration rules).   This review will show a TRACK RECORD that can be used in future court cases and help future victims of this carrier and their insurance provider who continues to support such conduct of abuse.  

Carriers - if you are insured by LLC you may lose future business since we as customers can clearly see you have a scam going on here and deserve to be called out for such conduct.  I write this review in order to protect customers who need to move their vehicles and for carriers who care about who insures them and the reputation that insurance provider has throughout your industry.  

The person filing the negative reporrt, we will refer to him as Donald from this point on, against us is correct about only one thing.  LLC Insurance Agency did  insure SDM Transport.  This is what really happend:

1)  Donald purchased a 2004 Volkswagen (VW) Golf from an insurance auto salvage auction

2)  Needless to say the VW had prior damaged and did not run.  It had to be loaded on SDM's trailer with a fork truck

3)  SDM delivered the VW to Phoenix, AZ

4)  When the SDM driver got to AZ, there was not a fork truck to unload it.  The driver and Donald rolled the VW off the trailer

5)  Donald saw the rear door was unlocked and said it was damaged in transit

6)  SDM's inspection of the VW when they picked it up noted damage to the rear door

7)  The SDM driver called the owner of SDM and told him Donald was upset about damage to the rear door.  The owner said he would drop $200 off the delivery charge to settle.  Donald agreed

8)  Donald later contacted SDM and claimed there was more damage.  SDM told him they were not responsible for any of the damges and he already agreed to the $200 settlement

9)  Unhappy with what SDM told him, Donald contacted our office claiming addtional damages to the VW.  We told him since the damage he was claiming to the VW was below SDM's $5,000 cargo deductilbe, we could nofile a claim.  He would have to deal directly with SDM.  Donald became extemely angry and abusive.  He left us threatening voice-mails. 

10)  SDM told Donald the damage he was claiming was more than he paid for the car.  SDM told him if they were to pay what he was demanding, they would be entitled to the salvage so they would get the VW.  Donald got furious with them

Both SDM and LLC Insurance Agency are in businesses regulated by federal and or state goverment.  If there had been any malfeasance by either SDM or LLC, Donald would have been able to go to the DOT, FHWA, Illinois Commerce Commission or Illinois Department of Insurance to collect on the damages to the VW.  This complaint about SDM and LLC is the ravings of a person looking for a platform that will allow him to libel someone, no disrespect to Ripoff Reports, since there was not a legal platform available to someone trying to commit insurance fraud.
