Potential renters in the New Orleans area...be wary of ads for an apartment/apartments for rent. These apartments are advertised as a "private bayou home" and "rentals for share". Past tenants have been kicked out of their apartments due to illegal wiring of apartments and the electricity being turned off as such. Landlord (Lisa Miceli) skipped town when electricity was turned off and could not be reached by phone. Tenants were forced to move and did not receive security deposit back.
Landlord was served from small claims court and lied about who she was and therefore could not be served to appear in court to face her charges.
Past tenants had reported serious issues with the apartments including holes in ceilings and floors which invited leaks and rodents and toxic mold, keys not distributed to tenants and tenants were "told" to use only a back door, locks were never changed, burn marks on electrical outlets, landlord invited substandard contractors to fix repairs and at that time tenants reported items were stolen from apartments, landlord would enter apartments without prior notification, illegal wiring off electricity and cable, blacked out electricity meters...
Beware and think before you accept any ad for a rental from this person, Lisa Miceli.
