Complaint Review: Lior Rachmany Dumbo Moving and Storage - Brooklyn New York

I made a move back to my original address (having been temporarily relocated) on May 10th. I  didn't personally hire Dumbo. 

And the experience was horrible it was a nightmare. They underestimated just how much I actually had to move.

Because they didn't do an inventory they used  a small vehicle instead of the standard large van. And as a result made the decision without my knowledge, permission or consent (obviously) threw out, trashed my belongings. I didn't realize what they did until it was too late to do anything.

I lost things that I couldn't replace or would cost  me money to replace if it were possible.

Things including but not limited to a dish I'd hoped to have repaired but is gone. A very valuable bottle of pure rose essential oil absolute worth several thousand dollars. Books that I  now  have to replace. Kitchen items. A pair of sewing shears and pinking shears no longer made and sold by Sears and Roebuck who is no longer in business. An iodine supplement. All gone.

I'm not only devastated but enraged.

On top of that they piled everything on top of each other so that there was literally a mountain of boxes 

They are grossly negligent and grossly incompetent. They  also damaged things. I didn't personally hire them the managing agent of my building David Fleishman did.  He was the one who contracted with Dumbo. I had no say or choice in the matter. I asked Fleishman to make 2 trips, he flatly refused.

Neither he nor Dumbo did an inventory, He purposely undercounted how many boxes I had he gave them (45) when in reality I had (90-95). He gave them only one or two pieces of furniture, including a queen size bed that I didn't have.

Fleishman has a mutually benifictial exclusive relationship with the owner Lior Rachmany.  I wanted to file a claim, but since I didn't hire Dumbo I needed documentation such as an invoice and bill of laden. When I tried to get the information from Fleishman, his attorney wanted to know what I wanted it for. Needless to say I didn't get it.

The whole thing was a fraud. Fleishman planned the whole thing. I contacted the NYS Attorney General's office to make a complaint. Dumbo lied about the entire situation. What the Attorney General's James Sfiroudis from the Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection Division told me was "The Attorney General's Office has jurisdiction to take law enforcement action only when we can prove to a court a pattern of repeated or persistent fraudor illegality. 

Since my situation is unique perhaps one in a million unfortunately. I'm screwed. And so both Fleishman and Dumbo get away with what they've done with impunity. I have heath conditions, the stress caused by what they did made them worse. They threw out and trashed my medication. 

Dumbo could have gone back and gotten the rest of my stuff, they made a unilateral, conscious decision not to. These things some of them were the only things I had left of someone who meant more to me than life itself. they ripped open a wound thay never healed. 

I wrote to Lior Rachmany to file a claim, but he never responed. What they did was a staff member sent Fleishman a text message. This is what it said: Hi, David. It's Mavile from Dumbo moving. You moved with us    (your tenant Debby Quashen) back in May 2022. She sent us us a mail about the claim. What happened? Please let us know.  Thank you. 9174267465,  For some twisted reason Fleishman sent it to be, just to be funny. I don't find any humor in this situation.

It's gone, all gone nothing left. I can't function. I decided to try to file a complaint with the DOT Fderal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Department of Transportation Commercial Enforcement and Investigations Division. Since I didn't contract with Dumbo I don;t expect to get anywhere with them either.

I'm always on the receiving end. So they including Fleishman with get away with what they did, especially since no one will ever see this review.
