LA Wheel & Tire CALIFORNIA la-wheel-and-tire New Chrome Rims only half completed, rusting and chipping. Said I would have to pay more to have backs done. Sylmar CA
Supposed to be brand new, tripple dipped, chrome rims with a 5 year guarantee. Guarantee doesn't seem to be worth anything as after I got them they are rusting and chipping and only done on the one side. Purchased thru Ebay. Very expensive, price changes regularly. Claimed the rims are fully, tripple, dipped but they don't finish the backs and the backs are only partially chrome covered chipping and rusting.
My Mechanic/Autobody shop who work and certified on many supercars said it was the worst chrome job they had ever seen. Already rusting on the unfinished inside even before installed and will get worse I'm told. La-Wheel-and-Tire only made excuses and said if I wanted the backs done I had to ask for it and pay more. Of course no mention of this in the ad.
Areas on the fronts have either unpolished spots or too much removed showing discolor as well. Will have to pay $2000 to get these fixed. Found new place to get them fixed and they said the same: YUP, worst job they have ever seen too. I will be up to around $6,000 for four rims with chrome. Was shown rims on a Porche of what a good chrome job looks like, now I know I got ripped off.
This was a HORRIBLE experience and a very expensive lesson. Check around, a good company does not have this many negative feedbacks everywhere with plenty of excuses and deflections.
