How is it that American citizens are able to "be on the front lines" to assist the Ukraine military with rescuing dogs??? Especially when they claim the Russians are specifically shelling them. How are they granted access to areas normally not given to US citizens?
The people running this 501c3's legitimacy is questionable. Phil Jason Haberman and Jon Barocas, although they seem to have an unusual amount of "friends" in high places giving to their appearance as legit, transcripts tell another story, including that these two aren't former combat veterans.
In 2018, they've were forcefully removed from Country of Jordan for their military scam.
Haberman used Luv A Bull's licensing in the past and got caught using it for over $25k in veterinary care for dogs he claimed were rescues, but were actually his own dogs.
Why can't they operate & rescue dogs in the USA? They were involved in fraud during the hurricanes in Florida and North Carolina.
They were investigated for their "breaching" private property in Korea to steal dogs. Haberman used a US drone in Korea which has it's own ramifications. Haberman even posted they stole a German Shepherd dog from a Korean private property location by cutting the lock and "breaching the premises".
When asked about K9GR, in the April 3, 2023 Combat Vet Vision video on You Tube with Aaron Q. Seibert, Haberman did not post his face due to "safety reasons because he is preparing to go back". He falsely claimed he previously "was overseeing international operations as an under cover agent with another dog rescue with CONUS for the dog meat trade in Korea." Haberman falsely stated in 2015 his CONUS facilitators didn't do anything and his financial sponsor for tht particular mission had to step in. Fancy words. Truth is K9GR was behind all of this and the records show Haberman is a liar.
Haberman stated they started K9GR in 2016. Haberman states Jon had a lot of experience in Korea, Thiland and Haberman had experience in Korea for years and SAR. He further claims his rescue is more for his mental health and to help him personally than any counselor or group therapy that he's been through since being diagnosed with PTSD. When the hell was he diagnosed with PTSD since he never saw combat? If he actually has PTSD caused by previous wars, then why go into a situation that "triggers" causing flashbacks? And what wars did he participate in? NONE. Haberman is encouraging people interested in participating in his rescues to go through Seibert to verify their combat history. Obviously, Seibert didn't do his due dilligence on Haberman's military [cough] career.
For the past year, K9GR has been in the Ukraine saving dogs, conveniently during litigation where they're being sued. On the video, Haberman claims that they've saved over 500 animals, agveringing 80 a day. Amazing! Other rescues in Ukraine only average 10 per day. Haberman can now put on his resume that he even herded cattle.
Where's all the $$$ going? Incorporator Phil Drager's name has been whited out on their online 2021 990 Form. There is no one named Drager. It's Phil Haberman. Conman extraordinaire.
Their website boasts the following:
“Over the past 12 months K9 Global Rescue has made more than 16 combined humanitarian trips to Ukraine for the Ukrainian refugee and pet crisis. Our 2 teams are boots on the ground working throughout Ukraine from Kyiv, Bucha, Irpin, Kharkiv, Izium, Bakhmut, Soledad and Lyman, Kherson and throughout the North, East, and Southern front lines. While on these missions we continue to work with several highly regarded rescue groups and the Ukrainian military helping with our logistics and supply needs. We now have a 23 passenger Mercedes Sprinter van and a smaller Mercedes van which is essential to extract people and animals out of harms way to safe areas, transport and deliver medical aid, human food, dog & cat food, pet supplies, and veterinarian supplies. Our teams continue to put themselves at risk in newly liberated villages and contested areas under constant Russian shelling. Financial donations are needed more than ever to sustain our efforts. The situation is desperate, and our ask is huge but with your help it can be accomplished. Please donate and share. We will continue to post videos and pictures of our missions.”
Misions, one and zero lines, extractions, tactical assistance, and military language make it seem legit. That's Haberman's forte. If they were legit, why are their faces blacked out and obscured? They wear military patches, yet they're not affiliated with the US military.
Several of the dogs rescued are transported to the USA, but to their own homes! Yup, your donations paid for several dogs' travel to go the organizer's homes. Bucha is now Haberman's dog. Jon has a couple of them, too.
Ask yourself - what have these people donated personally themselves? Do not trust the 990 form filed.
Haberman does not have legitimate job. Your donations pay for his BMW and multiple cars. His home is worth upper $500k. K9GR claims no one receives any money. Then how does Haberman live his extravigant lifestyle, complete with a maid service?
What about both Mercedes vans and the numerous ongoping Sprinter van repairs? Hotel rooms at$140 a night? Each year they purchase computers as write offs. Look closely at their 990 docs. https://www.k9globalrescue.org/blank. They removed the company address on the 990 because it's Barocas' home. They claim they only received $10k in donations which isn't true if you follow the FB and other online donation sites. They claim only $5k in assets with a net loss of over $40k. They claim over $25k in assets, but do not list what they are. Where's the vans, boat, dog crates, military gear with go pro cameras? Who actually owns these items? Perhaps they're using them as personal tax deductions. Each year their 990s are basically the same.
Did you know donating to [email protected] is not a legit tax write off? Check out PayPal's website. You are actually sending Jon money, not K9GR. That's how they get away with not reporting all the donations. The loans to the company from Jon are probably the donations, but Jon's getting the tax deduction, not the people who actually send $ to PayPal.
Feeling uneasy about supporting this organization? Here's more: Google Phil Jason Haberman for his history of scams.
Do not trust any documentation you receive from them, as Haberman has a history of creating fraudulent documents to support his tall tales, just like he did to get his fake Purple Heart and his other military stories.
Although they do an amazing job rescuing the animals, a lot of their legitimacy needs to be investigated.
