Jewelea Dahl contacted my 19 year old daughter about a shout out on her horse instagram account.  My daughter saw that aka Lea Dahl had German Shepherd Dogs also.  My daughter had been saving her money to purchase a working line German Shepherd to eventually breed and do Protection work and sport with.  Lea Dahl said she had a great 2 year old AKC German Shepherd that would do bite work and was a proven producer.

The dog's name was Zara.  We went and met Zara at Lea Dahl’s home.  She did not let us inside but only in the yard.  The dog appeared healthy.  We agreed to purchase her that day.  Zara had just had a litter of puppies and was still nursing so we agreed to leave the dog Zara under Lea’s care until she weaned her puppies.  Lea was moving that very day and was sending some of her dogs to live with someone else while the pups weaned.

After two weeks passed we met the caregiver to get the dog.  When she got out of her crate she was extremely anorexic and fatigued.  I told the girl she looked terrible.  She told us she had contacted Lea about Zara not eating.

Lea insisted the dog would be fine and that she would not take her back and care for her.  Lea said the dog is the new owner's problem now.  We were unaware of the severity of the issue during the 2 weeks since we bought her until we picked her up.

We took her and tried to feed her, she would hardly eat and would throw up her water.  We took her to the vet within 48 hrs.  We made Lea Dahl aware of all the vet visits and reports.  She even stated to stop taking the dog to the vet. They just want your money.

After 4 vet visits in 4 weeks we decided to spay her because she may have an infection in her uterus from having puppies.  When the vet went to spay her he asked if he could make a larger incision to check for blockage.  They found a huge blockage on both ends of her intestine.  Weighing the risk and reward for the dog we decided to euthanize the poor thing.

Upon euthanizing her they opened her and found a 12 inch rope with thick curved rubber on both ends.  Lea had told us never to leave her with any toys or balls.  But she did.  Her intestine was already hard and scared, stomach full of liquid.  Vet report says it had been in there a significant amount of time, not just the few weeks we had her.  The poor dog was starving to death and vomiting the whole time we had her. The whole time we were in contact with Jewelea Lea Dahl and she would not return our money or help with vet bills.  Lea Dahl will not take any responsibility that she denied the dog proper vet care, instead is saying we killed the dog.

Please see Pics of The dog on Purchase day and the day we received her.
