I was prescribed Citalopram in March, 2022. After taking the pill for the first time, I experienced an adverse reaction that is not listed anywhere on the side effect labels in the USA.
I developed a condition called PSSD. (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction) To be more specific, the symptoms of this condition include genital numbness, no libido, erectile dysfunction, emotional blunting, asexuality, and anhedonia. The condition develops permanently after discontinuing an SSRI, with Citalopram being one of the culprits.
Living with this condition is extremely difficult. It is causing suicide in those who know what actually happened to them. There are thousands of victims living with this condition, and there has still been no update from these companies or the FDA.
The following link contains all of the studies done on PSSD so far. We have been left to fund research on our own, and lives have been stolen including mine. We desperately need help getting our lives back. Literature

Flint, sexual dysfunction is a well-known side effect, however I don’t think you understood the purpose of this report. Sexual dysfunction persisting AFTER discontinuing the drug is the situation. It is not well-known and in fact illegal as there is no warning for it on the side effects.

Unfortunately, sexual dysfunction is a well known side effect of SSRIs. It's usually less severe than what you are describing, but it's certainly within the range of side effects you can expect.
