On February 26, 2024, I engaged the services of escrow.com, (based in San Francisco) for the purpose of purchasing a motorcycle from an individual in Florida via an eBay ad. After verifying escrow.com was a licensed company, I allowed them to ACH debit $17,193.70 from my Wells Fargo Checking. I tried to meet their "identification standards" numerous time but kept getting rejected. I then canceled the service and ask for a refund on 3/1/2024. They ask me and the seller to confirm the cancellation of our deal, we both did so via email as requested. I was told several times that a refund would be processed within 1 day.  As of today 3/6/2024, I have not received a refund. I spoke with them this morning and they said a refund was in process and would be sent within 1 to 3 days. After hanging up, I then received a call from them telling me I needed to send them written email stating I won't take action against them or ask my bank to retake the funds, otherwise, they will not refund my money. Sounds like extortion to me. I read numerous negative reviews on BBB and trustpilot against escrow.com because of this very same issue. Time for class action? These people have take a lot of money from me and are refusing/delaying to give it back.
