This employer has displayed racism, discrimination, favoritism, sexual harassment. Insurance and labor laws have also been broken. 

I left this office Due to unethical behavior. 

here is a sample of my review below.



Public apology! 

I have worked with Dr. Arnold for over 23 years. I have helped her build her practice and I have since left due to her unethical behavior. This review is by no means an act of a disgruntled employee. I left her practice! I am NOT looking for a monetary reward here.  She is simply NOT abiding by her Hippocratic oath. I am a good healthcare worker and I could no longer witness her breaking the laws. I am a God-fearing woman and I need to alert the public of this tyrant.

 

I stayed with Dr. Dawn Arnold for many years out of loyalty and being naïve. Since leaving her practice, I have had the pleasure of working under master licensed opticians. I have discovered that I was being taught in Dr. Arnold’s office incorrectly. I now understand why most of her patients would comeback to recheck their prescriptions. They could not see out of their glasses! A number of prescriptions were made incorrectly.

 

You are only as good as your teacher. My apologies to the public if I had a hand in poor quality control. I am sure this office continues to inconvenience the patient by coming back multiple times to get the prescription correct. This situation will only worsen due to the fact that they just hired two new employees. (See picture attached to this review) I am no longer there to train them properly. They know nothing about eyewear buying, including the doctor. The staff struggles with all facets of this practice. Dr. Arnold hires them and throws them in a chair so they can fly by the seat of their pants and wing it. With the exception of Vanessa, they have no knowledge of contact lenses, frames, prescriptions, lens designs, eyeglasses, measurements or proper patient care while adhering to the laws. Would you like to put your delicate eyes in the care of these people?

 

I am a professional eyewear stylist with over 20 years of experience. I am NOT an optician. I was poorly trained by Dr. Arnold. I would often ask for her time to have additional training. She never helped me and I was with her for over 23 years. As a patient, why have faith in Dr. Arnold’s lazy ability to train her staff properly and protect her practice and patients? 

 

This situation has encouraged me to get the proper training that I deserve. I have decided to go back to school and get my optician license and business degree. My strength is eyewear styling. I have a huge following that I am very proud of. I want to be a fair business owner and helpful to the community. 

 

Since I left Dr. Arnold’s practice, I no longer live in fear of this woman. Her ethics are disgusting. Several laws are being broken in this practice. Including HIPAA violations.

 

The doctor and staff often talk about the patients delicate information among themselves and other patients. So in this practice, all of your information is being discussed in front of others, no privacy whatsoever. They poke fun at the poor patients that have to take medication due to their mental health.  I have video of this being done on several occasions, multiple times a week. Sadly, the doctor is included in these conversations. 

 

Dr. Arnold often prescribes a lens that the patient does not need to get more money out of their insurance. Hello VSP patients! Have your receipts, claims reviewed and recalculated by the staff. Vision Service Plan has been billed incorrectly multiple times for glasses and contact lens fittings. Be careful of your future VSP billing in this office. No one in this office, including the doctor is a master of processing the patient fees. I was the only one that attended all of the seminars and meetings for Vision Service Plan, VSP calculations training. 

It is sad that even a physician cannot be honest in this world. She also lies to the patient about a certain anti-reflective coding on the glasses. These lenses are fantastic and so are the coatings, but they do have a tendency to craze at times. 

She tells the patient that they have only a one year warranty. 

The company gives the labs and doctors a two year warranty. She would convince the patient to get another pair of glasses instead of giving the patient the two year warranty. 

 

Dr. Arnold, if you plan on selling glasses that are an average cost of over a thousand dollars…Please, give the patient the d**n two year warranty. The products used are Essilor and Zeiss.

 

There is racism, discrimination, sexual harassment and unfair wages with the staff. The last straw is having sex with her patients in and outside of the office. Yes! So when you get your eye examination, please remember that you are sitting in the very chair she uses for her sexual  pleasure including her back office. The staff is forced to hear her talk about sex… how bad or good it was with the patient or what an idiot the man is. Apparently every man is an idiot to her. Knowing the fact that she was married when she started these relationships with her patients was disgusting. The state board laws require a physician to follow the proper channels if you’re going to be intimate with your patients. This has not been done and I believe she is on victim number three or four. 

 

Morally I just can’t allow her to continue practicing. I have been in this field since I’m 18 years old. I love my field. You have so many great eye doctors in the surrounding areas, including Union, NJ. Why would you pick this office…? 

 

Just to prove how petty she is. Please read the first sentence of this letter coming from her office. This is just a recent example of what a physician should not do because they are mad at you for leaving. Instead of thanking me for my service of 23 years, she sends out a letter to her patients making her sound like a combative idiot. 

So why did you keep me for over 23 years Dr. Arnold? 

 

You mentioned that I have a strong personality and it was a problem at times. But you were very happy to use my strong personality in certain business dealings because you are not quick with your tongue or fast on your feet. Let’s just face it, you are never pleased with any of your employees performances.

 

I feel bad for the staff. They have had poor guidance and this staff is allowed to give medical advice over the phone to patients without the proper training. She is always crying poor to convince the staff that she has no money raises or bonuses. In the meantime, she has doubled her income by hiring another doctor, without a license and added a double workload to the staff. She is pouring thousands of dollars into her retirement fund and taking out loans for renovations and new lasers that do not work. But she can’t afford to buy a $10 lunch as a thank you for a job well done. This is Dr. Arnold’s philosophy and I quote. “ why should I reward you for doing a job that I pay you for?”  

 

Just know she is just looking to climb the ladder by herself. She is not taking any of us with her.

For the love of God! She even charges her family for services that cost her close to nothing. The only important thing to her is what you carry in your pocket and that is money. We need to expose these tyrants!
