Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We hired the Butler & Dodge Law firm represented by the owners themselves, Terry and Karen - to work on our case. We had hired a different attorney first, but we came across Butler & Dodge & decided to schedule a meeting with them as well.

After our meeting with Terry and Karen, we decided to stay with the attorney we had hired first. The following day Terry showed up to my home to try to get us to go with his law firm but we told them we had already signed paperwork with our previous attorney for which Terry started to laugh right after I told him that.

He said that wasn't an issue, that his law firm was going to get in contact with the attorney we had hired in the first place to cancel our agreement with them and to compensate for this, Terry handed me a $10,000 check to ditch our previous attorney and to sign with them.

Due to the situation we were in, we decided to listed to his advise and we took the $10,000 check. After he left our home, we tried a few times to get a hold of him but he was always on court or vacations, but the funny thing is that before we signed with him, he was always available.

After we called a few times, Karla, their representative, returned our call. We explain to her how worry we were regarding our case and that we felt uncomfortable not getting a call back from Terry. After a few hours we received a call from Terry, he was yelling and harassing us because we called his office.

We felt threaten by the way he talk to us. He told us to stop calling and that once the case was over he was going to let us know. A few months passed and never heard from Terry again. We decided to stop by his office but Terry was not there but his wife, Karen was.

She told us that we won our case but before we could receive any compensation, we had to pay back the money they gave us. They ended up charging us the $10,000 that they gave us plus, gasoline expenses, travel expenses, court expenses and so much more. At the end our case we ended up with only 10% of the total compensation, the other 90% was kept by Butler & Dodge.

We felt ripped-off, we felt horrible, we requested a few meetings with them but we never received a confirmation. One day, when we called, Karla answer, and with tears on our eyes, we explained to her what the situation was but she just laughed and said, don't you know that's how attorneys work?

You should have read the paperwork instead of calling and complaining. We felt so bad, my wife ended up having depression for a few months. We're posting this experience so other people in need don't go through this hell.
