Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I am a single woman, senior citizen, and been on permanent disability for 10 yrs. My current car was costing me too much in repairs, and I sold that (with honesty) of all the things buyer would need to fix.

I searched for weeks to find a safe, cheap, older car suitable for me. My first mistake was finding a pristine 2008 Outback (but it was anything but pristine under the hood). He even lowered the price knowing I couldn't afford more than $4,200.

The dealer told me again and again he "wanted me to have it", and it was now in their Carrollton shop to fix every issue (no details except oil change, tires, possible problem with axle).

My second mistake was to believe Dingers employee and not my own gut instincts when I paid for $20 carfax, which stated odometer 170,000 unchanged for five years. Employee told me carfax makes mistakes all the time.

My third mistake was to TRUST him at all! I took the car quickly to my Subaru mechanic for one hour, and from what he could see in a short time, I'd need to put $800 in repairs into it. I paid Dingers cash for my 2008 Outback in late July '22.

I have had my Outback in the shop more times than I've driven the car. Rack & pinion, front & rear struts, front end alignment, new and rightly routed brake lines, fuel leak, fuel gasket, fuel pump, etc., etc.! I am absolutely furious.

I feel discriminated against, lied to, frauded that this car was "safe and good to go". It was anything but! The price of car was $4,200. I have now spent $3,900 in repairs!!! Employee refuses to answer my texts any more, offer some fair, honorable restitution, "sorry ma'am. You bought it as-is".

I gave this owner and his employee every chance to make this right with me. They have not. I felt, therefore, compelled to tell all other consumers. If you dare to take the word of this salesman, insist on 90-day service contract, or for God's sake, walk away!

 1. Dingers gave me 2.5 hours to get to my Subaru master tech and back. That was 50 minutes round trip.

2. I paid my expert mechanic for his expertise, but only time for a serious glance, where he found viewable problems.

3. What a "steal” I thought… for an Outback?! Yes, naive to have trusted "used car salesmen” liars! Angry!

You could have paid your trusted Subaru mechanic 125-150 dollars to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. That's a mere 3-3.5 percent of the purchase price.

This may be the first time a used car salesman has lied to a customer.
