My husband and I decided to buy ourselves a new tv for Christmas and went to CompUSA as they had a great price on the tv we wanted and were offering 0% financing if paid within 1 year.

Our first payment was due Jan. 22 so I scheduled it to be paid electronically through my Credit Union. Just before the 2nd payment was due, I received a call from CompUSA stating that they had not received payment for Jan. and since my next payment was due on the 22nd, I needed to make a payment now. Even though I had already scheduled Feb's. pymt., I went ahead and made 2 payments on my bank credit card.

I next called my bank and was shocked to hear that CompUSA had refused my electronic payment and had demanded a paper check! This caused my payment to be late and so they jacked my interest from zero to 25.99%!

When I called CompUSA the next day to transfer the balance to my bank credit card, I was informed that they could not accept a credit card payment and it would have to be paid with, you guessed it, a paper check! I found this odd as they had accepted my credit card payment the day before!

I find this business practice outrageous! Had they not refused my electronic payment, it would not have been late! I wasted no time in sending them their all important paper check to pay off the balance! Needless to say, we will be taking our business to someone other than CompUSA and Tiger Direct in the future!
