I purchased an 07 Jeep Wrangler from their used car lot.  They provided a 3 mo/3K mi, used car warranty to cover major issues in lieu of having a mechanic check out the vehicle.  The vehicle had a leaky rear differential, but appeared to be an easy fix, since I had to do a scheduled maintenance (fluid change) on it anyway.  When I removed the rear diff cover to change the fluid, I discovered a loose gear stack shim.  I called Courtesy and was told to take it to a Jeep dealership.  The Jeep dealership confirmed a worn out bearing issue and replaced and re-stacked the gears.  I asked Courtesy to compensate me for the parts, under the warranty, clearly stated as covered (I figured I would pay for the labor since it was done at another dealership, even though they sent me there).  Courtesy refused to cover the issue, stating that because I removed the cover to replace the fluid, that the warranty was voided.  They felt that I caused the bearings to war out by servicing the diff.  The Jeep dealership backed me up on this one, but Courtesy would not listen to them.  This all happened within 1 mo. of taking delivery of the vehicle.  This matter was taken all the way up to the owner level with no change in thier attitude.  Basically it was tough s**t, because I needed to be certified mechanic to change fluids!  My feeling their used car warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on, if they can ignore things like this even after the Jeep dealership told them it was a legitimate long term issue.  Buyer beware, don't trust these guys on anything they tell you.
