So im curious then -
How long would you say the manufacturers warrentee should be ?
Maybe 2 years - 3 years - life time ?
1st of all most rxs are only valid for a year - so therefore if another pair is made at a 1 yr and 6 mnths - or even 1 year and 1 DAY outside the expiration date - whoever decides to refill it - they would be breaking the law! Yes - a year and 1 Day would put the company as well as the individual at risk with their local licensing board for filling or refilling a expired rx !!!!
Now there are always exceptions to the rule - and yes they could always call the perceiving doctor for him to rewrite the rx / bit to tell u the truth - 99% of the time they say - no and want us to be the Bearor of bad news that u are required to have a new exam done!!
Eyewear are considered MEDICAL devices and therefore u need to think of them as a rx for
a drug - what is written must be obeyed and there is a reason the doctor writes what they do on the prescription- from the power ordered to yes the expiration date.
2ndly - as for how long u want the warrenties to be - and how mad u are at LC - well u need to find out what product they used and also be mAD at the manufacturer of the lens - vecause many if not all have the 1 year coverage / so u should start in them since they dictate how long their defects are covered not LC !!
They don't know what the glasses went thru during the past year !!
So u should be happy that u got 50 % off when most mom and pops stores can't afford to do this - and u would be paying full price ...
Look at all the benifits and perks u get with a huge company - u will never see a - oh u picked out the wrong frame - come on back and we will remake it and eat the cost --/ NOT !! That would never happen thru us !
U buy it - ur stuck with it -
u scratched it ((( since nothing is scratch PRoOF)))
ur stuck or pay for a new one at full price baby !
That's how the world goes round - and people stay in buiness !!
